4.2 Placement

  • Place the freezer on a firm, level surface to prevent vibrations and noise.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the freezer. Leave at least 10 cm (4 inches) of space on the sides and back, and 20 cm (8 inches) on top for proper air circulation.

4.3 Initial Cleaning

Before first use, clean the interior and exterior of the freezer with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.

4.4 Power Connection

  • Allow the freezer to stand upright for at least 2-4 hours before plugging it in. This allows the refrigerant to settle.
  • Plug the freezer into a dedicated 100V, 50/60Hz grounded electrical outlet.

4.5 Initial Operation

After plugging in, set the temperature control to a medium setting (e.g., '4'). Allow the freezer to run empty for 2-3 hours to reach its operating temperature before loading food.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Temperature Control

The temperature inside the freezer is controlled by a dial located on the rear of the unit. The dial has settings from '1' to '7'.

  • Setting '1': Warmest temperature.
  • Setting '7': Coldest temperature (approximately -22°C).

Adjust the dial to your desired freezing temperature based on the ambient conditions and the amount of food stored. A setting of '4' or '5' is generally suitable for most uses.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Defrosting

This freezer requires manual defrosting. Frost buildup can reduce cooling efficiency and storage capacity. Defrost when the frost layer is about 0.5 cm (0.2 inches) thick.

  1. Unplug the freezer from the power outlet.
  2. Remove all food items and store them in another freezer or cooler.
  3. Open the freezer lid and place towels around the base to catch melting ice.
  4. Locate the drainage port inside the freezer and remove the plug. Place a shallow pan or tray beneath the external drainage outlet to collect water.
  5. Allow the ice to melt naturally. Do not use sharp objects or heating devices to speed up defrosting, as this can damage the freezer.
  6. Once defrosted, clean the interior, dry thoroughly, replace the drainage plug, and plug the freezer back in.
