3. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of your solar charge controller. Please follow these guidelines carefully.

3.1. Wiring Diagram

Connect the components in the following order to prevent damage:

  1. Connect the battery to the charge controller. Ensure correct polarity.
  2. Connect the solar panels to the charge controller. Ensure correct polarity.
  3. Connect the DC load to the charge controller (if applicable). Ensure correct polarity.

Warning: Always connect the battery first and disconnect the solar panel last. Reverse polarity connection can damage the controller and other components.

4. Operating Instructions

The PowMr 80A controller features an intuitive LCD screen and function keys for monitoring and parameter adjustment.

4.1. LCD Screen Display

The LCD screen displays various system parameters in real-time. It will automatically return to the default display screen after 100 seconds of no button presses.

Step 1: Checking PV Input Information

Press the "PV ▲" key to cycle through PV input voltage, PV input current, and PV input power.

Step 2: Checking Battery Information

Press the "BAT ▼" key to cycle through current battery voltage, equipment temperature, battery calibration voltage, battery type, boost charging voltage, float charging voltage, and low DC cut-off voltage.

Step 3: Configure Load Enable Duration

Press and hold the "SET ▶" key to adjust the load state or load enable duration:

  • 00H: Solar light control mode (load turns on at dusk, off at dawn).
  • 24H: Load is continuously on.
  • 01H-23H: Adjust the load enable duration after dusk.
