Operating Instructions
1. Preheating the Granite Stone
The granite stone must be preheated to the desired temperature before placing it on the bamboo platter for cooking. The stone can be heated using a stovetop or oven.

Image: Demonstrates heating the granite stone on a stovetop and in an oven. The image also shows a water drop test to check readiness and the use of gloves to place the hot stone.
Stovetop Method:
- Place the granite stone directly on a stovetop burner (gas or electric).
- Heat on medium-high for approximately 20-30 minutes, or until it reaches the desired temperature.
- A small drop of water should sizzle and evaporate quickly when the stone is hot enough.
Oven Method:
- Preheat your oven to 250°C (480°F) or higher, up to 287°C (550°F).
- Place the granite stone in the cold oven, then turn on the oven. This helps prevent thermal shock.
- Heat for 45-60 minutes, or until the stone reaches the oven's temperature.
- Use oven mitts or heat-resistant gloves to carefully remove the hot stone from the oven.
CAUTION: Always use heat-resistant gloves when handling the hot granite stone.
2. Grilling at the Table
- Once preheated, carefully transfer the hot granite stone using heat-resistant gloves and place it onto the stainless steel tray within the bamboo platter.
- Arrange your prepared meats, seafood, vegetables, or other foods around the stone and in the ceramic bowls.
- Guests can place small pieces of food directly onto the hot stone to cook to their preference.
- Use the ceramic bowls for sauces, spices, or side dishes.
- The stone will retain high temperatures for a significant period, allowing for extended cooking time.
3. Serving Cold (Optional)
The granite stone can also be chilled for serving cold dishes, such as desserts or appetizers.
- Place the clean granite stone in a freezer for at least 2-3 hours.
- Carefully remove the chilled stone and place it onto the stainless steel tray within the bamboo platter.
- Serve cold items like ice cream, fruit, or sushi directly on the chilled stone.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Proper cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity of your NutriChef Sizzle Hot Stone Grill Set.

Image: The granite cooking stone is easy to clean under running water, demonstrating its stain and odor resistant properties.
- Granite Stone: Allow the stone to cool completely. Scrape off any food residue with a non-abrasive scraper. Wash with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. The stone is naturally stain and odor resistant.
- Stainless Steel Tray & Ceramic Bowls: These components are dishwasher safe, or can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water.
- Bamboo Platter: Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not soak in water or put in a dishwasher, as this can damage the wood. Dry immediately and thoroughly. Periodically, you may apply food-grade mineral oil to maintain the bamboo's condition.
- Storage: Store all components in a dry place. Ensure the granite stone is completely dry before storing to prevent moisture damage.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Stone not heating sufficiently. | Insufficient preheating time or low heat setting. | Increase preheating time or use a higher heat setting (up to 287°C / 550°F). Ensure the stone is placed directly on the heat source. |
| Food sticks to the stone. | Stone not hot enough or insufficient oil. | Ensure the stone is fully preheated. Lightly brush the stone with a high smoke point oil (e.g., grapeseed, avocado) before placing food. |
| Smoke during cooking. | Excess oil or food residue. | Use minimal oil. Ensure the stone is clean before each use. Cook in a well-ventilated area. |
| Stone cracks during heating. | Rapid temperature change (thermal shock). | Always place the stone in a cold oven and allow it to heat up gradually with the oven. Avoid extreme temperature changes. |
