3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

The HR50 uses a CR2032 button battery. Follow these steps to install or replace the battery:

  1. Slide the battery cover to unlock it, then open it.
  2. Remove the battery insulation strip (if present).
  3. Insert the CR2032 battery with the positive side facing up. Confirm that the front indicator light flashes to ensure the battery is installed correctly.
  4. Close the battery compartment and rotate it to lock.

4.1 Wearing the Chest Strap

  1. Wet the two electrode areas on the back of the chest strap with water before wearing. This improves conductivity for accurate heart rate detection.
  2. Install the HR50 sensor onto the chest strap with the iGPSPORT logo facing up.
  3. Adjust the strap to fit your chest comfortably and snugly, ensuring the monitor rests just below the center of your chest. The strap should be tight enough to stay in place but not restrict breathing.
  4. Fasten the strap securely.

4.2 Connecting to Devices (Bluetooth & ANT+)

Connecting to a GPS Bike Computer (ANT+)

  1. Power on your GPS bike computer and enter the Settings page.
  2. Find the "Sensor Connections" option.

  5. After successful pairing, the bike computer will display "Heart Rate Connected" or similar confirmation.
  6. Return to the cycling page, and your heart rate data will be displayed.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Sensor (Host)

After each use, remove the sensor from the chest strap and wipe it with a soft, dry towel. Do not use alcohol or any abrasive materials (such as steel wool or chemical cleaners) on the sensor.

5.2 Cleaning the Chest Strap

Rinse the chest strap with clean water (around 25°C) after each use. Wipe it with a soft towel and hang or lay it flat to air dry naturally. Do not soak, dry clean, iron, or bleach the chest strap. Avoid stretching the chest strap violently or bending the electrode areas.
