5. Setup Instructions
5.1 Placement
- Place the cabinet on a firm, level surface away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
- Allow at least 5 inches (12.7 cm) of space between the back and sides of the cabinet and any walls for proper ventilation.
- Ensure the ambient room temperature is within the recommended operating range (typically 50-80°F / 10-27°C).
5.2 Initial Cleaning
Before first use, wipe the interior and exterior of the cabinet with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
5.3 Power Connection
Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Allow the cabinet to stand for at least 2 hours before plugging it in to allow refrigerants to settle.
5.4 Seasoning the Cedar Shelves
Spanish cedar needs to be seasoned to prevent it from absorbing moisture from your cigars. This process helps maintain stable humidity levels.
- Remove all cedar shelves and drawers from the cabinet.
- Lightly wipe each cedar component with a clean cloth dampened with distilled water. Do not soak the wood.
- Allow the cedar to air dry completely (typically 24-48 hours) before placing them back into the cabinet.
- Once dry, return the shelves to the cabinet.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Control Panel Overview
The control panel, typically located on the front or top of the unit, allows you to set and monitor the temperature and humidity. Refer to the specific button layout on your unit.

Press the "Humidity Up" or "Humidity Down" buttons to set your desired humidity level. The ideal humidity for cigars is generally 65-72% RH (Relative Humidity).
Note: Ensure the water reservoir (if applicable to your model) is filled with distilled water to enable humidity control functionality.
6.4 Loading Cigars
Once the cabinet has reached your desired temperature and humidity, you can begin loading your cigars onto the cedar shelves. Arrange them to allow for proper air circulation.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning the Interior
Clean the interior of the cabinet periodically with a soft cloth dampened with distilled water. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
7.2 Cleaning the Exterior
Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid getting water into the control panel or electrical components.
7.3 Water Reservoir (if applicable)
If your model includes a water reservoir for humidity control, regularly check and refill it with distilled water. Clean the reservoir periodically to prevent mold or mineral buildup.
7.4 Dusting
Regularly dust the ventilation grilles at the back and sides of the unit to ensure proper airflow and cooling efficiency.
