Product Overview

The Secretlab MAGNUS Pro XL is an ergonomic electric standing desk designed for a versatile workspace. It features an integrated power supply column, a full-length cable management tray, and a full magnetic desktop surface compatible with modular accessories. This manual provides detailed instructions for assembly, operation, and maintenance to ensure optimal use of your desk.

Setup Instructions

Proper assembly is crucial for the functionality and longevity of your Secretlab MAGNUS Pro XL desk. We recommend having at least two people for the assembly process.

Unboxing and Part Identification

The product comes packaged in two boxes. Carefully remove all contents from the packaging. Refer to the 'What's in the Box' section of your user manual to identify all necessary parts before beginning assembly. Do not remove parts from their plastic coverings until required for assembly.

Key Assembly Steps

1. Desktop Preparation: Place the desktop (A) on a T-shaped board (cardboard packaging) for protection during assembly.
2. Desk Extensions: Align and fully insert the desk extensions (B) into both sides of the desktop. Secure them by tightening the screws with the provided T25 screwdriver and covering with screw caps.
3. Integrated Power Supply Column: Decide whether you want the power cable on the left or right side of the desk. The desk is pre-configured for the left side.
4. Connecting Leg Columns: Place the leg columns (C, D) into the desk frame. Plug the corresponding cables from the leg columns into the control box. Ensure cables are tucked neatly.
5. Assembling Cable Tray: Attach the mounting brackets (E) to the desktop. Align the cable tray (F) with the alignment notches on the brackets and magnetically snap it into place. Secure with screws.
6. Assembling Desk Feet: Attach the left and right desk feet (G) onto the leg columns, guiding the power cable through the opening in the desk foot. Ensure the longer end of each foot faces the front of the desk. Secure with screws.
7. Flipping the Desk Upright: With at least two people, gently tilt the desk 90 degrees until the control panel is facing downwards, resting on the packaging foam layer. Then, grip the desktop and side frame firmly and gently tilt it 90 degrees to an upright position. Ensure the desk is stable and balanced before releasing your grip.
8. Powering the Desk: Connect the power cord (J) with the socket located at the bottom of the leg column. Plug the other end of the power cord into a compatible power outlet.
9. Initial Calibration: Before first use, the desk must be calibrated. Slide the standby switch to the right to activate the control panel. Press and hold the 'down' button until the display shows 'RST' and you hear a beep. The desk will move to its lowest position and then stop. The calibration is complete.

Operating Instructions

The Secretlab MAGNUS Pro XL offers intuitive controls for height adjustment and cable management.

Height Adjustment

To adjust the height of your desk, press and hold the up or down arrow buttons until the desk reaches your desired position. For precise adjustments, tap the buttons to move the desk in millimeter increments. Always ensure the area around your desk is free from obstacles and keep at least 25mm (1 inch) of clearance around the desk edges.

Saving Height Presets

The integrated backlit control panel allows you to save up to three custom height presets for effortless transitions:

1. Adjust the desk to your preferred height.
2. Press the 'S' button on the control panel.
3. Then, press the desired preset button (1, 2, or 3) to save the current height.

Standby Switch

The control panel can be disabled to prevent accidental activation or movement of the desk. Slide the switch to the left to turn it off. Slide it to the right to turn it back on.

Cable Management

The MAGNUS Pro XL features a top-access full-length cable management tray and a full magnetic desktop surface for superior cable organization.

• Cable Management Tray: To open the tray, push the top of the handle down to release it from the magnets. To close it, lift the handle upward until magnets snap it into place.
• Magnetic Desktop Surface: Utilize the full magnetic desktop surface and dedicated modular, magnetic desk accessories (sold separately) to organize your space with monitor arms, cable anchors, and more.

Ergonomics

Achieving optimal ergonomic posture is essential for comfort and health.

• Sitting Posture: Adjust your chair so your feet are flat on the floor, knees bent at 90 degrees, and armrests raised so your elbows are bent at 90 to 120 degrees. Adjust your head pillow to support your neck. Adjust the desk height so your armrests are level with the desktop.
• Standing Posture: Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, shoulders relaxed, and back straightened. Adjust the desk height so your elbows are bent at 90 degrees.
• Monitor Placement: Adjust and position the top of your monitors at eye level for both sitting and standing postures.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Secretlab MAGNUS Pro XL desk.

• Cleaning: Wipe down the desk surface with a lightly damped microfiber cloth to remove any dust or debris. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the finish.
• Cable Management: Periodically check and reorganize cables within the management tray to prevent tangles and ensure smooth desk operation.
• Adjustable Feet: Ensure the adjustable feet are properly tightened and level to maintain desk stability.

Troubleshooting

• Desk Not Moving: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into both the desk and a compatible power outlet. Check the standby switch is in the 'on' position. Perform a calibration process as described in the Setup section.
• Uneven Height: Re-calibrate the desk. If the issue persists, check for any obstructions under the desk or uneven floor surfaces.
