1. Product Overview
The XTAR LC12 is a versatile charging and storage solution for 1.5V Li-ion AA and AAA rechargeable batteries. This kit includes the LC12 smart charger, 8 AA 3600mWh batteries, and 4 AAA 1200mWh batteries, providing a complete power solution for various electronic devices.

The charger is designed for convenience, offering a compact form factor that doubles as a secure storage case. The included batteries feature integrated smart chips for enhanced safety and stable 1.5V output, suitable for high-drain devices.

2. Setup Instructions
2.1 Unpacking and Initial Inspection
Carefully unpack all components from the packaging. Verify that the kit includes the LC12 charger, 8 AA batteries, 4 AAA batteries, and a USB-C charging cable. Inspect all items for any visible damage.

2.2 Connecting the Charger
Connect the provided USB-C cable to the charging port on the XTAR LC12 charger. Plug the other end of the USB-C cable into a compatible 5V 2A or higher USB power adapter (not included). Ensure the power source provides sufficient current for optimal charging performance. Insufficient power may lead to malfunction.

2.3 Inserting Batteries
Open the magnetic lid of the LC12 charger. Insert AA batteries into the larger slots on the left side and AAA batteries into the smaller slots on the right side. Ensure correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the charging slots. The tilt-design allows for effortless battery access.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Understanding LED Indicators
The LC12 charger features smart LED indicators on the top surface to display the charging status of each battery slot:
- Red Light: Battery is charging.
- Green Light: Battery is fully charged.
- Orange Light: Battery identification in progress or waiting for charging.
- Flashing Red Light: Battery error or incompatible battery detected.

3.2 Using the Charging Strategy Toggle Switch
The LC12 charger includes a toggle switch to adjust the charging sequence, allowing you to prioritize charging for specific batteries:
- Left Position: Starts charging with the leftmost 4 batteries first. It always charges 4 batteries from left-to-right.
- Middle Position: Slow charge for all 12 batteries. The charger rotates charging every 10 seconds, charging 4 batteries at a time.
- Right Position: Starts charging with the rightmost 4 batteries first. It always charges 4 batteries from right-to-left.

3.3 Battery Characteristics
XTAR 1.5V Li-ion batteries provide a stable 1.5V output throughout their discharge cycle, unlike traditional NiMH batteries which experience a gradual voltage drop. This ensures consistent performance for your devices.

The batteries are equipped with an intelligent safety chip offering multiple protections, including over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, over-voltage, over-temperature, and short-circuit protection. They are designed to operate reliably in a wide temperature range from -20℃ to 60℃.

4. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your XTAR LC12 charger and batteries, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the charger and batteries. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no moisture enters the charging slots or USB-C port.
- Storage: When not in use, store the charger with batteries inside in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The LC12's magnetic seal and full-wrap case provide protection against dust and damage.
- Battery Care: Avoid fully discharging the batteries for extended periods. Recharge them when convenient to maintain their health.

5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your XTAR LC12 charger or batteries, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Batteries Not Charging (Orange or Flashing Red LED):
- Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity.
- Reseat the battery firmly in its slot.
- Check if the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the charger and a 5V 2A or higher power adapter.
- If the LED is flashing red, the battery might be incompatible or faulty. Only use XTAR rechargeable 1.5V Li-ion batteries with this charger.
- Charger Not Powering On:
- Verify the USB-C power connection and ensure the power adapter is functional.
- Try a different USB-C cable and power adapter.
- Activating Over-Discharged Batteries:
The LC12 charger can activate and refresh low-voltage or over-discharged batteries, restoring their vitality. Simply insert the battery into the charger, and it will attempt to activate it.
