Setup
Follow these steps to connect your CMSTEDCD 8K HDMI KVM Switch:
- Power Connection: Connect the provided DC12V power adapter to the KVM switch and plug it into a power outlet. Ensure the ON/OFF switch on the KVM is in the OFF position before connecting other devices.
- Computer Connections (PC1 & PC2):
- For each computer (PC1 and PC2), connect two HDMI cables from the computer's HDMI output ports to the corresponding HDMI A and HDMI B input ports on the KVM switch (e.g., PC1's HDMI outputs to PC1 IN HDMI A and HDMI B).
- Connect one USB 3.0 A-A cable from each computer's USB port to the corresponding USB 3.0 input port on the KVM switch (e.g., PC1's USB port to PC1 IN USB 3.0).
- Important Note: For dual monitor functionality (Extended or Copy mode), each computer must have two HDMI output ports. If your computer only has one HDMI output, this KVM switch will not enable dual monitor functionality. Avoid using HDMI to DP or HDMI to DVI/VGA conversion cables as they are not officially supported and may cause compatibility issues.
- Monitor Connections: Connect two HDMI cables from the KVM switch's OUT A and OUT B ports to your two monitors.
- USB Device Connections: Plug your keyboard, mouse, and other USB 3.0 devices (e.g., printer, U disk, webcam) into the four USB 3.0 ports on the front of the KVM switch.
- External Control Button: Connect the desktop control button to the 'Control' port on the front of the KVM switch for convenient switching.
- Power On: Flip the ON/OFF switch on the KVM to the ON position.

Operating Instructions
The CMSTEDCD KVM Switch offers flexible control over your connected computers and displays.
Switching Between Computers
You can switch between PC1 and PC2 using two methods:
- Panel Button: Press the 'Select' button on the front panel of the KVM switch.
- External Wire Controller: Press the button on the desktop control unit connected to the 'Control' port.
An LED indicator on the KVM switch will illuminate (1 or 2) to show which PC is currently active.

Display Modes
The KVM switch supports two primary display modes for your dual monitor setup:
- Extended Mode: Each monitor displays different content, extending your desktop across both screens. This is ideal for multitasking.
- Copy Mode: Both monitors display the exact same content, mirroring your desktop. This can be useful for presentations or sharing your screen.

USB 3.0 Hub Functionality
The four USB 3.0 ports on the front of the KVM switch allow you to share USB devices between your two computers. These ports offer data transfer rates up to 5Gbp/s, which is 10 times faster than USB 2.0. For high-power USB devices, ensure the 12V power adapter is connected to the KVM switch for stable operation.
