2. Setup and Installation
Proper installation ensures optimal performance and video quality. Follow these steps carefully.
2.1 Preparing the Windshield
- Clean the area on your windshield where the dash cam will be mounted to ensure a strong adhesive bond.
- Apply one of the provided electrostatic films to the cleaned area. Smooth out any air bubbles. This film protects your windshield and allows for easier removal of the dash cam mount in the future.
2.2 Mounting the Dash Cam
- Attach the main dash cam unit to the car mount.
- Remove the protective backing from the adhesive mount pad.
- Firmly press the dash cam mount onto the electrostatic film on your windshield. Ensure it is securely attached.
2.3 Connecting Power and Cameras
- Connect the Type-C car charger cable to the main dash cam unit.
- Plug the car charger into your vehicle's 12V power outlet. The dash cam will power on automatically when the vehicle starts.
- If using the rear camera, connect its cable to the designated 'Rear' port on the main unit.
- Position the rear camera on your rear windshield using its adhesive mount.
2.4 Cable Management
Use the provided crowbar tool and cable clips to neatly tuck away all cables along the edges of your windshield, headliner, and door trims. This ensures a clean installation and prevents cables from obstructing your view or interfering with driving.
2.5 Adjusting Camera Angles
- The front mount rotates 90° for optimal positioning.
- The rear camera rotates 360° to capture the desired view.
- The side cameras rotate 180° to cover the interior or side windows as needed.
2.6 Initial Power-On and SD Card Formatting
Upon first power-on, the dash cam may prompt you to format the included 128GB SD card. It is recommended to format the card periodically to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption.

3. Operating the Dash Cam
3.1 4K Ultra HD + 360° Wide-Angle Coverage
The N5 PRO captures clear 4K (2160P) front footage and 1080P on the other three channels (rear, left side, right side). An alternative 2K+1080P*3 recording option is available for extended recording times. The 170° ultra-wide front & rear lenses and 150° wide-angle side cameras provide comprehensive 360° panoramic coverage, minimizing blind spots.
3.2 WiFi 6 & 5GHz Connectivity
The dash cam features WiFi 6, supporting both 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands for fast and stable video transfer. Download the free 'IIWEY' App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to manage your dash cam, view footage, and transfer videos to your smartphone at speeds up to 10MB/s.
3.3 Built-in GPS Tracking
Integrated GPS records your driving route, speed, and location in real-time. Review trip data on your smartphone via the 'IIWEY' App or on your computer using the 'GxPlayer' software.
3.4 Advanced Night Vision
Equipped with an FNO1.8 lens, 170° wide-angle FOV, and 4 IR lamps on each side camera, the N5 PRO automatically detects low-light conditions. It switches to black-and-white night mode to ensure clear footage in dark environments.
3.5 G-Sensor & Parking Mode
The automatic G-Sensor detects collisions and instantly records events. Parking Mode offers 24/7 vehicle monitoring with two options: time-lapse recording and collision detection. Note: Parking Mode requires the Hardwire Kit (ASIN: B0DHJNRPB9), which is not included and must be purchased separately.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Loop Recording & SD Card Management
The N5 PRO supports continuous loop recording, automatically overwriting the oldest footage when the memory card is full. A free 128GB SD card is included. It is recommended to format the SD card periodically (e.g., monthly) to prevent data errors and ensure smooth operation.
4.2 Super Capacitor
The dash cam is equipped with a super capacitor, allowing it to operate reliably in extreme temperatures from -4°F to 167°F (-18°C to 75°C). This feature enhances durability and longevity compared to traditional battery-powered dash cams.
5. Troubleshooting
- Mounting Screws: Do NOT remove the mount screws or detach the mount, as the GPS module is located inside and reinstallation can be difficult.
- App Functions: The IIWEY App is completely free to use. Please DO NOT activate VIP functions within the app, as these functions are unnecessary for core dash cam operation.
- Parking Mode: Ensure the Hardwire Kit (ASIN: B0DHJNRPB9) is correctly installed if you intend to use Parking Mode. This feature will not function without it.
