1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the OEARE BZT-161 4.8 Gallon Whole House Humidifier. This ultrasonic cool mist humidifier is designed to provide optimal humidity levels in large rooms up to 2000 square feet, featuring an 18-liter (4.8-gallon) water tank for extended operation. This manual provides detailed instructions for safe operation, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure the best performance of your device.

2. Important Safety Information

Please read all instructions carefully before using this humidifier and retain this manual for future reference. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Always place the humidifier on a firm, flat, waterproof surface at least 12 inches (30 cm) away from walls and appliances.
  • Do not place the humidifier directly on carpet, rugs, or absorbent surfaces.
  • Ensure the power cord is not damaged and is plugged into a suitable electrical outlet.
  • Do not operate the humidifier with a damaged cord or plug.
  • Unplug the humidifier before filling, cleaning, or moving it.
  • Do not add essential oils directly into the water tank. Use the designated aroma box.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Do not block the mist outlet or air intake vents.
  • Use clean, cool tap water. Distilled or demineralized water is recommended to prevent white dust.

4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Carefully remove the humidifier from its packaging.
  2. Place the humidifier on a flat, stable, and waterproof surface. Ensure it is at least 12 inches (30 cm) away from walls, furniture, and electronic devices.
  3. Ensure the power cord is accessible and not obstructed.

4.2 Water Filling

The humidifier offers two convenient methods for filling the water tank:

  • Ensure the humidifier is unplugged before filling.
  • Use clean, cool tap water. For best results and to minimize mineral buildup (white dust), use distilled or demineralized water.
  • Do not exceed the maximum water level indicator.

4.3 Installing the Extension Tube (Optional)

For increased mist height and wider dispersion, you can install the provided extension tube. Simply align the base of the extension tube with the mist outlet on the top of the humidifier and gently push down until it is securely in place.

4.4 Using the Aroma Box

To add essential oils for aromatherapy, locate the small aroma box on the side of the humidifier. Pull it out, add a few drops of your preferred essential oil onto the cotton pad, and then reinsert the box. Do not add essential oils directly into the water tank.

5. Operating Instructions

The humidifier can be operated using the touch control panel or the included remote control.

5.1 Power On/Off

  • Plug the power cord into a standard electrical outlet.
  • Press the Power button on the control panel or remote control to turn the humidifier on or off.

5.2 Adjusting Mist Level

  • Press the Mist button repeatedly to cycle through low, medium, and high mist output settings.
  • The current mist level will be displayed on the LED screen.

5.3 Setting Desired Humidity

  • Press the Humidity button to enter humidity setting mode.
  • Use the +/- buttons (if available on remote, or cycle through on panel) to set your desired humidity level between 30% and 95% in 5% increments.
  • The humidifier will automatically turn off misting when the ambient humidity reaches the set level and resume when it drops below.

5.4 Timer Function

  • Press the Timer button to set the operating time from 1 to 14 hours.
  • The humidifier will automatically turn off once the set time has elapsed.

5.5 Sleep Mode

  • Press the Sleep button to activate sleep mode.
  • In sleep mode, the LED display will turn off, and the humidifier will operate at a low noise level (below 30dB) to avoid disturbing sleep.

5.6 UV Sterilization (if applicable)

  • Press the UV button to activate or deactivate the UV sterilization function. This helps to purify the water within the tank.

5.7 Remote Control

The remote control duplicates all functions available on the touch control panel, allowing you to adjust settings from a distance of up to 5 meters.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the efficient operation and longevity of your humidifier. Always unplug the unit before cleaning.

6.1 Daily Maintenance

  • Empty any remaining water from the tank and base.
  • Rinse the water tank and base with fresh water.
  • Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth.

6.2 Weekly Cleaning (or more often with hard water)

  • Descaling the Water Tank:
    1. Unplug the humidifier and remove the top unit.
    2. Pour 1 cup (250ml) of undiluted white vinegar into the water tank.
    3. Let it soak for 30 minutes.
    4. Brush the inside of the tank with a soft brush to remove mineral buildup.
    5. Rinse thoroughly with clean water until the vinegar smell is gone.
  • Cleaning the Base and Transducer:
    1. Pour 1/2 cup (125ml) of undiluted white vinegar into the base reservoir, covering the transducer (the small metal disc).
    2. Let it soak for 30 minutes.
    3. Gently clean the transducer with a soft brush or cotton swab. Do not scrub aggressively.
    4. Rinse the base thoroughly with clean water. Do not immerse the base in water.
  • Aroma Box: Clean the aroma box and replace the cotton pad as needed.

6.3 Storage

When storing the humidifier for an extended period, ensure all parts are clean and dry. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

7. Troubleshooting
