5. Setup

5.1. Charging the Device

  1. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the charging port on the Moman CPX unit.
  2. Plug the other end of the cable into a USB power source (e.g., computer, USB wall adapter).
  3. The LED indicator will show charging status. A full charge typically takes approximately 2 hours.
  4. Disconnect the charger once fully charged to preserve battery life.

5.2. Helmet Installation

The Moman CPX can be installed using either a clamp mount or an adhesive mount.

5.2.1. Clamp Mount Installation

  1. Loosen the screws on the helmet clamp mount.
  2. Slide the clamp between the outer shell and the inner padding of your helmet, typically on the left side.
  3. Position the clamp securely and tighten the screws to fix it in place.
  4. Slide the Moman CPX unit onto the clamp until it clicks into position.

5.2.2. Adhesive Mount Installation

  1. Clean the desired mounting area on the side of your helmet thoroughly. Ensure it is dry and free of dust or grease.
  2. Peel off the protective backing from the adhesive mount.
  3. Firmly press the adhesive mount onto the helmet surface for at least 30 seconds. Allow 24 hours for the adhesive to fully cure before use.
  4. Slide the Moman CPX unit onto the adhesive mount until it clicks into position.

5.3. Speaker and Microphone Installation

  1. Attach the speakers to the inside of your helmet using the provided Velcro pads. Position them directly over your ears for optimal audio quality.
  2. Choose the appropriate microphone for your helmet type:
    • Boom Microphone: Ideal for open-face or modular helmets. Attach it to the inside of the helmet near your mouth.
    • Wired Microphone: Suitable for full-face helmets. Attach it to the chin bar area.
  3. Route the speaker and microphone cables neatly under the helmet padding to avoid interference and ensure comfort.
  4. Plug the speaker and microphone connectors into the corresponding ports on the Moman CPX unit.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the Power button for approximately 3 seconds until the LED indicator lights up.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the Power button for approximately 3 seconds until the LED indicator turns off.

6.2. Bluetooth Pairing with Mobile Device

  1. With the device powered off, press and hold the Power button for about 5-7 seconds until the LED indicator flashes red and blue alternately, indicating pairing mode.
  2. On your mobile phone, enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
  3. Select "Moman CPX" from the list of available devices.
  4. Once paired, the LED indicator will flash blue slowly.

6.3. Mesh Intercom Communication

The Moman CPX supports Mesh group communication for multiple riders.

6.3.1. Initiating Mesh Intercom (Open Mode)

  1. Ensure all CPX units are powered on.
  2. Press the Mesh button once on any unit to initiate Open Mesh mode. The LED will indicate Mesh activity.
  3. Other CPX units within range will automatically join the Open Mesh group.

6.3.2. Group Mode (Private Mesh)

For a private group, follow the instructions in your full manual to create a private Mesh group, which typically involves a specific pairing sequence for designated group leaders and members.

6.3.3. Auto-Reconnection

If a rider leaves the Mesh group range, the CPX unit will automatically attempt to reconnect when they come back into range.

6.4. Phone Calls

  • Answer Call: Press the Phone button once.
  • End Call: Press the Phone button once during a call.
  • Reject Call: Press and hold the Phone button for 2 seconds.
  • Redial Last Number: Double-press the Phone button.

6.5. Music Playback

  • Play/Pause: Press the Play/Pause button once.
  • Next Track: Rotate the knob clockwise.
  • Previous Track: Rotate the knob counter-clockwise.

6.6. FM Radio

  • Turn On/Off FM Radio: Press the FM button once.
  • Scan Stations: Press and hold the FM button for 2 seconds to automatically scan and save stations.
  • Change Station: Rotate the knob clockwise or counter-clockwise.

6.7. Volume Control

  • Increase Volume: Rotate the knob clockwise.
  • Decrease Volume: Rotate the knob counter-clockwise.

6.8. AI Voice Assistant

  • Activate Voice Assistant: Double-press the Voice Assistant button (or specific button as per device markings) to activate your phone's voice assistant (e.g., Siri, Google Assistant).

7. Maintenance

7.1. Cleaning

  • Wipe the intercom unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
