PETSTIBLE CCT-28

PETSTIBLE CCT-28 Multi-Zone Water Floor Heating Central Control Box Instruction Manual

Model: CCT-28

1. Introduction

The PETSTIBLE CCT-28 is an 8-channel smart hub controller designed for multi-zone central heating systems, specifically for water floor heating. It facilitates precise temperature control across different zones by managing thermostat inputs, zone valves, and circulating pumps. This manual provides essential information for the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of your CCT-28 control box.

2. Safety Information

Please read all safety instructions carefully before installation and operation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or damage to the product.

  • Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local electrical codes and regulations.
  • Ensure the power supply is disconnected before performing any wiring or maintenance.
  • Do not expose the device to water or excessive humidity.
  • Do not open the casing of the control box unless instructed by a qualified technician.
  • Verify all connections are secure and correct before applying power.

3. Product Overview

The CCT-28 central control box acts as the brain of your multi-zone floor heating system. It receives signals from up to 8 thermostats and controls corresponding zone valves, actuators, and the circulating pump to deliver heat efficiently to different areas.

3.1 Components and Indicators

The front panel features indicator lights that provide visual feedback on the system's status.

  • Central Control Box Power Indicator: Indicates if the unit is powered on.
  • Boiler Indicator Light: Shows the status of the boiler connection.
  • Circulation Pump Indicator: Indicates when the circulation pump is active.
  • Thermostat Port Indicators (8x): Each light corresponds to a thermostat zone, indicating its active status.

5.2 Connection Steps

  1. Power Supply: Connect the AC 100V-240V, 50/60Hz power supply to the 'N' (Neutral) and 'L' (Live) terminals as indicated in the diagram.
  2. Thermostat and Actuator Connections:
    • Each of the 8 thermostat inputs (Zone 1 to Zone 8) corresponds to a specific zone valve.
    • Connect your thermostats to the respective 'L' and 'N' terminals for each zone.
    • Up to three normally closed actuators can be connected to each zone's output terminals. Ensure correct polarity and secure connections.
  3. Circulation Pump Control (Active Linkage): Connect the circulation pump to the dedicated 'N' and 'L' output terminals. The control box will activate the pump when any zone calls for heat.
  4. Boiler Control (Passive Linkage): Connect your boiler's control input (typically 'NO' and 'COM' for Normally Open and Common) to the passive output terminals on the CCT-28. This allows the control box to signal the boiler to operate when heat is required.
  5. Mounting: Secure the control box to a wall or suitable surface using appropriate fasteners. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.

6. Operating Instructions

Once properly installed and powered on, the CCT-28 operates automatically based on the thermostat settings.

  • Zone Control: Each thermostat independently monitors the temperature in its assigned zone. When a thermostat detects that the temperature is below its setpoint, it sends a signal to the CCT-28.
  • Actuator Activation: Upon receiving a signal from a thermostat, the CCT-28 activates the corresponding zone's actuators, causing the zone valves to open and allow hot water to flow into that heating circuit.
  • Boiler and Pump Activation: If any zone calls for heat, the CCT-28 will also activate the circulation pump and signal the boiler to turn on (via passive linkage) to supply hot water to the system.
  • Indicator Lights: Monitor the indicator lights on the front panel (Figure 1) to observe the status of each zone, the boiler, and the circulation pump. A lit indicator typically means the corresponding component is active.
  • Exit Delay: The system incorporates a 200-second exit delay, which helps prevent short cycling of the boiler and pump, contributing to system longevity and efficiency.

7. Maintenance

The CCT-28 control box is designed for minimal maintenance. Follow these guidelines to ensure optimal performance:

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the exterior of the control box with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Environment: Ensure the installation environment remains dry and free from excessive dust or extreme temperatures.
  • Inspections: Annually, or as part of your heating system's regular maintenance, have a qualified technician inspect the wiring connections for any signs of wear or loosening.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your CCT-28 control box, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No power to the control box (Power Indicator off) No power from the main supply; loose wiring; tripped circuit breaker. Check main power supply; verify wiring connections; reset circuit breaker. If problem persists, consult a qualified electrician.
A specific zone is not heating Thermostat not calling for heat; faulty thermostat; loose wiring to thermostat or actuator; stuck zone valve/actuator. Check thermostat setting and battery (if applicable); inspect wiring for the specific zone; manually check if the actuator can move.
Boiler or circulation pump not activating No zone is calling for heat; faulty boiler/pump connection; boiler/pump issue. Ensure at least one zone thermostat is set to call for heat; check wiring to boiler/pump; verify boiler/pump are operational independently.
Indicator lights not functioning correctly Internal fault. Contact customer support for assistance.

For issues not listed above or if troubleshooting steps do not resolve the problem, please contact customer support.
