5. Operating Modes

The print server supports multiple operating modes to suit your network environment:

  • Wired Mode: Connects directly to your router or network via an Ethernet cable. This provides a stable and fast connection for printing.
  • 2.4G Wireless Network Mode: Connects to your existing 2.4G Wi-Fi network, allowing wireless printing from any device on the same network.
  • Standalone Mode: The print server creates its own Wi-Fi hotspot, allowing devices to connect directly to it for printing without needing an external router. This is ideal for temporary setups or environments without an existing network.

  • Printer Not Detected:
    • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected between the printer and the print server.
    • Verify the printer is powered on.
    • Check if the correct printer drivers are installed on your computer.
  • Cannot Access Web Interface:

    • Ensure your computer is on the same network segment as the print server.
    • Verify the IP address entered in the browser is correct.
    • Try resetting the print server to factory defaults (refer to Section 8).
  • Printing is Slow or Intermittent:
    • For wireless connections, ensure the print server is within range of your Wi-Fi router and there is minimal interference.
    • Check network traffic; high network usage can affect printing speed.
    • Ensure the print server's firmware is up to date.

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the print server. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the Bewinner support website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Resetting to Factory Defaults: If you encounter persistent issues or forget your login credentials, you can reset the device. Locate the 'Reset' button (often a small pinhole button) on the device. Use a paperclip to press and hold the button for approximately 5-10 seconds until the indicator lights flash, then release. This will restore all settings to their original factory defaults.
