Thank you for purchasing the olayks. 1.5L Electric Hot Pot and Tea Kettle. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your appliance. Please read it thoroughly before first use and retain it for future reference.

Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:

  • Read all instructions.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the appliance in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.

  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  • This appliance has overheat protection and dry-burn protection features to ensure safety during cooking. If the appliance overheats or runs dry, it will automatically power off.
  • The hot pot surface is made of ceramic glaze, free from PTEE, PAS, or PFOS. It will not release harmful substances under high temperatures.

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and inspect the appliance for any damage.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, clean the hot pot and tea kettle according to the "Maintenance and Cleaning" section.
  3. Placement: Place the appliance on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from water sources and heat. Ensure adequate ventilation.
  4. Power Connection: Ensure the power switch is in the "OFF" position before plugging the appliance into a grounded electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

Using the Electric Hot Pot

  1. Fill: Add desired ingredients and liquid to the hot pot. Do not exceed the maximum fill line.
  2. Connect Power: Ensure the hot pot is placed on a stable surface and plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
  3. Select Power: Use the switch on the handle to select the desired power setting:
    • LOW (350W): Suitable for gentle cooking such as pasta, ramen, pancakes, and eggs.
    • HIGH (750W): Suitable for faster cooking, such as steak, soup, or hot pot.
  4. Cook: Allow the food to cook. The upgraded heating plate ensures even and lasting heating.
  5. Monitor: The hot pot features overheat and dry-burn protection, which will automatically power off the unit if these conditions occur.
  6. Serve: Once cooking is complete, switch the power to "OFF" and unplug the appliance. Carefully serve the food.

Using the Electric Tea Kettle

  1. Fill: Open the kettle lid and fill the kettle with fresh water. Do not fill above the MAX line or below the MIN line. For brewing tea, you may place loose leaf tea into the removable stainless steel infuser before closing the lid.
  2. Placement: Place the kettle securely on its 360° rotation base.
  3. Select Temperature: Use the temperature control panel on the base to select your desired brewing temperature. The kettle offers precise temperature control for various beverages:
    • 175°F (80°C): Ideal for White Tea, Green Tea.
    • 195°F (90°C): Ideal for Oolong Tea.
    • 200°F (93°C): Ideal for Coffee.
    • 212°F (100°C): Ideal for Black Tea, French Press, or boiling water.
  4. Start Heating: Press the "Start" button to begin heating. The kettle will automatically shut off once the selected temperature is reached.
  5. Keep Warm Function: The kettle features a 120-minute keep warm function. Activate this function if you wish to maintain the water temperature for an extended period.
  6. Serve: Carefully lift the kettle from its base and pour. The non-drip spout ensures clean pouring.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your appliance.

  1. Always Unplug: Before cleaning, ensure the appliance is unplugged from the power outlet and has cooled down completely.
  2. Hot Pot Cleaning:
    • Wash the non-stick ceramic glaze inner pot with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
    • Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as these can damage the non-stick coating.
    • Wipe the exterior of the hot pot with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the hot pot body in water.
  3. Tea Kettle Cleaning:
    • The wide opening and removable stainless steel infuser make cleaning easy. Wash the infuser and kettle interior with warm, soapy water.
    • For mineral deposits (limescale), fill the kettle with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar, or use a descaling solution. Boil the mixture, then let it sit for 15-30 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
    • Wipe the exterior of the kettle and the power base with a damp cloth. Never immerse the power base in water.
  4. Storage: Store the clean, dry appliance in a cool, dry place.

Troubleshooting
