ANDELI MONER.B.GR Auto Darkening Welding Helmet User Manual

Model: MONER.B.GR

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the ANDELI MONER.B.GR Auto Darkening Welding Helmet. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use, setup, operation, and maintenance of your welding helmet. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the helmet and keep it for future reference. This helmet is designed to protect your eyes and face from sparks, spatter, and harmful radiation under normal welding conditions.

2. Safety Instructions

Always prioritize safety when welding. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury.

3. Product Overview

The ANDELI MONER.B.GR is an advanced auto-darkening welding helmet featuring a panoramic 180° view, a large viewing area of 3.94" x 3.74", and True Color technology for enhanced clarity. It is equipped with 4 arc sensors for reliable arc detection and is suitable for TIG, MIG, and ARC welding processes. The helmet offers variable shade control from DIN 4/5-8 to 9-13.

4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the helmet for any signs of damage during transit. If any damage is found, do not use the helmet and contact your supplier.

4.2 Battery Installation/Check

The helmet typically comes with pre-installed batteries or requires installation of CR2450 lithium batteries. Locate the battery compartment, usually on the ADF cartridge. Ensure the batteries are inserted with the correct polarity. Remove the protective film from the battery if present. The helmet is solar-assisted, but batteries are crucial for initial darkening and low-light conditions.

4.3 Headgear Adjustment

Adjust the headgear for a comfortable and secure fit. The headgear should hold the helmet firmly on your head without being too tight. Adjust the following:

4.4 Protective Lenses

Ensure the inner and outer protective lenses are clean and free from scratches. Replace them if damaged. These lenses protect the ADF from spatter and scratches.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

The helmet features an automatic power on/off function. It will power on when exposed to light and power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

5.2 Shade Level Adjustment

Use the external shade control knob to select the appropriate shade level for your welding process. The helmet offers variable shades from DIN 4/5-8 (for cutting/low amperage) to DIN 9-13 (for higher amperage welding). Refer to welding shade charts for recommended settings based on amperage and welding type.

5.3 Sensitivity Adjustment

The sensitivity control adjusts how easily the ADF reacts to the welding arc. Turn the knob to a higher sensitivity setting for low amperage TIG welding or when the arc is partially obscured. Reduce sensitivity in bright ambient light to prevent false triggering.

5.4 Delay Control

The delay control determines how long the ADF remains dark after the welding arc ceases. A short delay is suitable for tack welding, while a longer delay helps protect eyes from afterglow and allows the weld pool to cool slightly, especially at high amperages.

5.5 Grind Mode

Activate the grind mode (usually an external switch) when grinding. In this mode, the ADF remains in its light state (DIN 4) to provide clear vision while protecting against impact. Ensure grind mode is OFF before welding.

5.6 Testing the Auto-Darkening Function

Before each use, test the ADF. Point the helmet towards a bright light source (not the sun) and quickly press the test button (if available) or strike a test arc. The filter should darken instantly and return to its light state after a short delay. If it does not function correctly, do not use the helmet for welding.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

6.2 Battery Replacement

When the low battery indicator illuminates or the ADF fails to darken reliably, replace the batteries. Open the battery compartment, remove the old batteries, and insert new CR2450 lithium batteries, observing correct polarity. Dispose of old batteries responsibly.

6.3 Storage

Store the helmet in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and corrosive chemicals. Use the original packaging or a protective bag to prevent scratches.

6.4 Inspection

Before each use, inspect the helmet for any damage, including cracks in the shell, scratches on lenses, loose headgear components, or damaged arc sensors. Replace any damaged parts immediately.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Helmet does not darken when arc is struck.Low battery; Arc sensors dirty/blocked; Incorrect sensitivity setting; Grind mode active.Replace batteries; Clean arc sensors; Increase sensitivity; Deactivate grind mode.
Poor visibility through the filter.Protective lenses dirty/scratched; ADF dirty.Clean or replace protective lenses; Gently clean ADF.
Helmet darkens intermittently or falsely.Low battery; High sensitivity in bright ambient light; Other welders nearby.Replace batteries; Decrease sensitivity; Shield sensors from other light sources.
Arc flash experienced.ADF not darkening; Incorrect shade setting; Helmet not positioned correctly.Check ADF function; Increase shade level; Adjust headgear for proper coverage.
