Setup and Installation

The Philips Solar Motion Sensor Light is designed for easy, wire-free installation. For optimal performance, choose a location that receives direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours daily.

Recommended Installation Height

The recommended installation height is approximately 8.2 feet (2.5 meters) for optimal motion detection and light coverage.

Installation Steps

  1. Mark Drilling Points: Hold the light fixture against the desired mounting surface and mark the positions for the mounting screws.
  2. Drill Holes: Drill holes at the marked positions. Insert the expansion screws (wall anchors) into the drilled holes if mounting on masonry or concrete.
  3. Mount the Light: Align the light fixture with the holes and secure it using the provided mounting screws. Ensure it is firmly attached.
  4. Adjust Angle: Adjust the angle of the solar panel and the light fixture to maximize sun exposure and desired illumination area.
  5. Activate: Press the power button to turn on the light and select your desired operating mode (see Operating Instructions).

Operating Instructions

The light features a single push button to cycle through its three operating modes and turn off the device. Each new light is initially in the OFF mode.

Lighting Modes

  1. Sensor Mode:

Press the button once. The light will stay off until motion is detected. Upon detecting motion, it illuminates at 100% brightness (1000 lm) for 25 seconds, then turns off. This mode can be activated in both daytime and nighttime.

  2. Dusk-to-Dawn Mode:

Press the button twice. The light automatically turns on at dusk at 10% brightness (100 lm) and stays on for 8 hours, then automatically turns off at dawn.

  3. Dim + Sensor Mode:

Press the button three times. The light stays on at a dim 3% brightness (30 lm). When motion is detected, it brightens to 100% brightness (1000 lm) for 25 seconds, then returns to 3% brightness. This mode automatically turns off at dawn.

  4. Off:

Press the button four times to turn the light off completely.
