3. Product Overview

3.1 Front Panel

The front panel provides convenient access to frequently used ports:

4. Setup

After connecting your monitors, Windows should automatically detect them. If not, right-click on the desktop, select "Display settings," and configure your displays (extend, duplicate, or show only on one).

5.2 Fast Boot

The device is optimized for fast boot times thanks to its PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. Ensure no unnecessary startup programs are enabled to maintain optimal boot performance.

6. Hardware Upgrades

The Bmax Mini PC B8A Pro offers expandability for both RAM and storage.

6.1 Upgrading RAM

The device comes with 16GB DDR5 4800MHz RAM and supports up to 256GB DDR5 memory across two SO-DIMM slots. To upgrade:

1. Power off the Mini PC and disconnect all cables.
2. Unscrew the four screws on the bottom cover.
3. Carefully lift the bottom cover.
4. Locate the DDR5 SO-DIMM slots. Gently push the clips on both sides of the RAM module outwards to release it.
5. Insert the new RAM module(s) into the slots, ensuring they are properly seated, and push down until the clips lock into place.
6. Reattach the bottom cover and secure the screws.

6.2 Upgrading SSD Storage

The Mini PC includes a 512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD and features a second M.2 slot (PCIe 3.0 NVMe) for additional storage, supporting up to 4TB. To upgrade or add an SSD:

1. Follow steps 1-3 from the RAM upgrade section to open the device.
2. Locate the M.2 NVMe SSD slot(s).
3. If replacing, remove the existing SSD by unscrewing the retaining screw and gently pulling it out.
4. Insert the new M.2 NVMe SSD into the slot at an angle and push down, then secure it with the retaining screw.
5. Reattach the bottom cover and secure the screws.

7. Software & Recovery

7.1 Windows 11 Operating System

Your Bmax Mini PC B8A Pro comes pre-installed with Windows 11. Ensure your system is updated regularly for security and performance improvements. You can check for updates via Settings > Windows Update.

7.2 Smart Recovery System

The Bmax Smart Recovery System allows you to restore your PC to its factory-fresh condition. This can be useful for resolving persistent software issues or preparing the device for a new user.

1. Power On: Power on your Mini PC.
2. Enter Recovery Mode: As soon as the screen lights up, immediately and repeatedly tap the F9 key until the System Recovery menu appears.
3. Start the Recovery: You have two options:
   • Using Keyboard: Press the 'Y' key to begin the factory reset.
   • Using Mouse: Click the [Restore System] button.
   The recovery process will begin and may take approximately 5-10 minutes. Your PC may restart during this time.
