5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Focusing the Lens

Once the lens is securely attached to your smartphone, open your phone's camera application. Rotate the focus ring on the telephoto lens to adjust the focus distance until the image on your phone screen is clear. For best results, ensure your phone's native zoom is set to 1x initially, then use the lens's focus ring.

5.2 Using as a Monocular

To use the telephoto lens as a monocular for direct observation, simply attach the 37mm Silicone Eyecup to the eyepiece end of the lens. This allows for clear, magnified viewing without your smartphone.

7. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your telephoto lens, follow these maintenance guidelines:

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your telephoto lens, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

Q1: Why are photos easily blurred when shooting with a high-powered lens?
A: Blurring is usually caused by handheld shaking, low light, or inaccurate focusing. It is recommended to fix the phone with a tripod, manually rotate the focus ring to adjust slowly until the picture is clear, and prioritize shooting in a well-lit environment.
Q2: What should I do if I always feel out of focus after installing the lens?
A: The depth of field of a high-magnification lens is shallow, and it is easy to lose focus with slight movement. Please make sure that the phone and the lens fit perfectly (the main camera is aligned with the center of the lens), and refer to the manual to maintain a stable shooting distance.
Q3: The lens is easy to loosen or fall off when mounted on the cell phone, how to solve it?
A: It may be that the size of the cell phone does not match the fixture (e.g., excessive camera protrusion, the case is too thick, or the cell phone is on the small side). Please make sure the phone model is in the official compatibility list, use silicone spacers to fill the gap and tighten the fixture screws.
Q4: How to fix the photo with distortion or dark corners at the edges?
A: This is a physical limitation of the optical lens. Place the subject in the center of the frame. After focusing, use 1.7x to 3x digital zoom. Crop the edges to highlight the subject. Alternatively, use photo editing software or smartphone apps for post-processing to fix edge distortion, adjust overexposed areas, or enhance details.
Q5: Is my cell phone model compatible with this lens?
A: It is compatible with mainstream models such as iPhone, Samsung, Huawei Mate/P series and so on. If the camera is in a special position or protrudes too high, please use the extension adapter or contact customer service to check the compatibility.
