5. Setup

5.1. Installation

  1. Choose Location: Select a central location for the thermostat, away from direct sunlight, drafts, or heat sources, to ensure accurate temperature readings.
  2. Mounting: Use the provided screws to mount the thermostat and receiver units securely to a wall or suitable surface.
  3. Wiring (Receiver):
    • IMPORTANT: Ensure main power to the boiler system is turned OFF at the circuit breaker before proceeding with any wiring.
    • Connect the receiver to your boiler system according to the wiring diagram provided on the back of the receiver unit and the safety tips mentioned in Section 4.
    • If unsure, consult a qualified electrician.
  4. Powering the Thermostat: Insert batteries (not included) into the thermostat unit or connect it via the USB power cable for continuous backlight.

5.2. Initial Pairing (Thermostat and Receiver)

The thermostat and receiver are typically pre-paired from the factory. If they are not communicating or if you need to re-pair them:

  1. Ensure both the thermostat and receiver are powered on.
  2. Refer to the specific pairing instructions in the detailed manual (if provided separately) or contact customer support.

5.3. Tuya Smart App Integration (Optional, for Wi-Fi variant or with compatible gateway)

While this model is an RF wireless thermostat, some variants offer Wi-Fi connectivity for Tuya Smart app control, or it can be integrated via a compatible smart home gateway. If your setup supports Wi-Fi or a gateway:

  1. Download the "Tuya Smart" app from your smartphone's app store.
  2. Register or log in to your account.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device. This typically involves putting the thermostat into pairing mode (refer to the device's screen or specific instructions for Wi-Fi pairing).
  4. Connect the thermostat to your home Wi-Fi network via the app (if direct Wi-Fi model) or connect the gateway to the app and then pair the RF thermostat to the gateway.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off: Use the designated button or menu option to turn the thermostat on or off.
  • Display: The large screen displays current room temperature, set temperature, time, and other environmental data like humidity.

6.2. Setting Temperature

  1. Rotate the knob clockwise to increase the set temperature, or counter-clockwise to decrease it.
  2. The new set temperature will be displayed. The system will adjust heating to reach this target.
  3. To switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, access the system settings menu (refer to the detailed manual for specific steps).

6.3. Programmable Heating Schedules

The thermostat allows you to set custom heating schedules for different times of the day and days of the week. This feature helps save energy by heating only when needed.

  1. Access the "Schedule" or "Program" menu via the thermostat's interface (or Tuya Smart app if applicable).
  2. Set desired temperatures for various time periods (e.g., morning, day, evening, night) for each day.
  3. Save your schedule. The thermostat will automatically follow these settings.

6.4. Antifreeze Function

The antifreeze function automatically activates heating if the ambient temperature drops below a preset minimum (typically 5°C / 41°F) to prevent pipes from freezing. This function is usually enabled by default. Check system settings to confirm or adjust.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the thermostat and receiver with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: If using batteries, replace them when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Ensure correct polarity.
  • Firmware Updates: If connected to the Tuya Smart app, check for available firmware updates periodically to ensure optimal performance and new features.

8. Troubleshooting
