Operating Instructions

Preheating the Machine

Press the power button to turn on the machine. The display will show a preheating animation. Wait until the machine completes preheating and enters standby mode (indicated by steady lights on the power and cup indicators).

Grinding and Tamping Coffee

Use fresh, whole coffee beans and grind them just before brewing for maximum flavor. The grind size is crucial for espresso extraction; it should be fine and uniform. For a single shot, use 12-14g of coffee grounds. For a double shot, use 18-20g. Evenly distribute the coffee grounds in the 58mm portafilter, then tamp them down firmly.

Brewing Espresso

Load the portafilter into the machine by twisting it firmly to the right. Place your cup(s) directly under the coffee brewing outlets. Press the single or double cup button to begin brewing. The ideal extraction time is 25-30 seconds. Monitor the pressure gauge to ensure optimal extraction (needle in the blue zone).

Customizing Shot Volume

To customize the water volume for a single shot (20-125 mL): With the machine in standby mode, place a cup under the brewing head. Press and hold the single cup button for approximately 3 seconds until water starts flowing. Once the desired volume is reached, press the single cup button again to save the setting. To reset to default, press and hold both the single cup and power buttons simultaneously.

Steaming Milk

Press the steam button to initiate steam preheating. Once preheating is complete, the steam indicator will be steadily lit. Pour cold whole milk into the stainless steel milk pitcher, ensuring the milk level does not exceed the spout. Position the steam wand into the milk, submerging the tip approximately 0.39 inches below the surface at a 15-degree angle. Turn the steam lever to the low steam setting. You will hear a hissing sound as air is incorporated. For whole milk, this process typically lasts 5-8 seconds. Once the milk pitcher is too hot to hold comfortably (around 140°F), move the steam switch back to its initial position to halt steam production. Wipe down the steam wand immediately after use.

Maintenance

Daily Cleaning Routine

After each use, remove the portafilter and tap out the coffee grounds into a residue bucket. Separate the filter from the portafilter and rinse both under running water, scrubbing gently with a brush to remove any leftover residue. Reassemble the filter and portafilter. Press the double cup button to flush water through the brew head for 5 seconds to clean any remaining coffee grounds. Use the matching cleaning brush to clean the brew head filter and surrounding area. Turn the steam switch to the hot water position to dispense hot water from the steam pipe for 3-8 seconds, then wipe the milk wand with a wet towel. Remove the water drip tray, empty the dirty water, and rinse with clean water. Reassemble the cleaned water tray. Wipe off any remaining water on the machine surface with a towel. Finally, press the power button to turn off the device.
