4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Adjusting the Pulley System
The SM-6500 features an adjustable pulley system with 34 distinct height positions. To adjust the pulley height, pull out the spring-loaded pin on the carriage, slide the carriage up or down to the desired position, and release the pin, ensuring it fully engages in the corresponding hole.
4.2 Using the Squat Rack
The integrated squat rack includes adjustable bar supports (J-hooks) and safety stoppers. Both can be adjusted to 20 different heights. To adjust, pull out the pin, slide the support/stopper to the desired height, and ensure the pin locks securely into place. Always use the safety stoppers when performing heavy lifts.
4.3 Using the Power Tower
The top section of the unit features multi-grip pull-up bars, allowing for wide, narrow, and neutral grip pull-ups and chin-ups. Ensure a secure grip before performing exercises.
4.4 Weight Stack Adjustment
The SM-6500 is equipped with two independent 68 kg weight stacks. To select the desired weight, insert the selector pin fully into the weight plate of your choice. The system operates with a 2:1 resistance ratio, meaning if you select 10 kg on the stack, the effective resistance at the handle will be 5 kg.
4.5 Exercise Examples
The MARCY SM-6500 Functional Trainer allows for over 30 different exercises targeting all major muscle groups. Examples include cable crossovers, chest presses, rows, triceps pushdowns, bicep curls, squats, overhead presses, pull-ups, and leg raises.
