Safety Information

  • Always use potable water sources with the filter. Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection.
  • Ensure all components are securely assembled to prevent leaks.
  • Keep the system out of direct sunlight for prolonged periods to maintain water quality and system integrity.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials for cleaning, as this may damage the stainless steel or filter elements.

Package Contents

Verify that all the following components are included in your package:

  • Upper Stainless Steel Chamber
  • Lower Stainless Steel Chamber
  • Stainless Steel Lid
  • Smart Carbon Filter(s) (Quantity: 1)
  • Spigot Assembly (including washers and nut)
  • Rubber Base Ring
  • Blocking Plugs (for unused filter holes)

Setup Instructions

1. Prepare the Carbon Filter(s)

  1. Remove the carbon filter(s) from their packaging.
  2. Under a faucet, wet the entire surface of each carbon filter. This process, known as 'priming,' helps to remove any air trapped within the filter pores and prepares it for optimal filtration. You may notice the filter 'sweating' as it absorbs water.
  3. Continue wetting for approximately 1-2 minutes until water flows freely through the filter.

2. Assemble the Spigot

  1. Insert the spigot stem through the hole in the lower stainless steel chamber.
  2. Place a washer on the inside of the chamber over the spigot stem.
  3. Secure with the nut, tightening by hand. Do not overtighten. If a leak occurs, ensure washers are correctly seated and consider using plumber's tape if necessary.

3. Install the Carbon Filter(s)

  1. Place the upper chamber onto the lower chamber.
  2. From inside the upper chamber, insert the threaded stem of the primed carbon filter(s) through the holes in the bottom of the upper chamber.
  3. Secure each filter with a wing nut from underneath the upper chamber, tightening by hand until snug.
  4. If you are using fewer filters than available holes, insert blocking plugs into the unused holes to prevent unfiltered water from passing through.

Operating Instructions

1. Filling the System

Pour untreated water into the upper chamber. The water will gravity-feed through the carbon filter(s) into the lower chamber. The filtration process takes time, so allow several minutes for the water to pass through completely.

2. Initial Flush

For the first use, it is recommended to discard the first two full batches of filtered water to rinse any manufacturing residue from the filters. This ensures optimal taste and performance.

3. Dispensing Water

Once the water has filtered into the lower chamber, open the spigot to dispense clean, potable water. Close the spigot when finished.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Stainless Steel Chambers

Wipe the exterior of the stainless steel chambers with a soft, damp cloth. For interior cleaning, use warm soapy water and a soft brush or sponge. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or steel wool.

2. Filter Replacement

The Smart Carbon Filter has a lifespan of up to 2642 gallons or 12 months, whichever comes first. Replace filters regularly to ensure continued effective filtration. Refer to the filter packaging for specific replacement instructions.

Water Leakage from SpigotSpigot not tightened correctly or washers are misplaced/damaged.Ensure spigot nut and washers are correctly installed and tightened. Apply plumber's tape if necessary.
Unpleasant Taste/OdorFilters need initial flush or are at the end of their lifespan.Perform initial flush by discarding first two batches of filtered water. If issue persists, replace filters.
Water Not FilteringBlocking plugs are not removed from filter holes, or filters are severely clogged.Ensure all blocking plugs are removed from holes where filters are installed. Check if filters are severely clogged and replace if necessary.
