Setup

SSD Installation

1. Open the Enclosure: Unscrew and remove the bottom cover of the enclosure.

2. Install the Hard Drive: Insert your M.2 NVMe SSD at a 30-degree angle into the slot. Tighten the rear screw to secure the drive.

ProRes Recording (iPhone)

For compatible iPhone models (iPhone 15/16/17 Pro/Max/Plus), the enclosure enables direct 4K ProRes recording to the installed SSD, conserving internal phone storage.

For iPhone (iOS)

1. Connect the enclosure to your iPhone (15/16/17 Series).
2. Select the photos/videos you wish to transfer.
3. Click "Save to Files".
4. Click "Browse".
5. Click "ORICO" (or the name of your SSD).
6. Click "Save".

Note: This feature is not applicable for iPhone 14/13/12/11/XS/XR/X/SE.

• Device not recognized:

  • Check if your device's operating system requires specific drivers (usually plug-and-play for modern OS).
  • Try connecting to a different USB-C port or another compatible device to rule out port issues.
• Slow transfer speeds:
  • Ensure your device's USB-C port supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) for optimal performance. Older USB versions will result in lower speeds.
  • Confirm that the SSD installed is an NVMe drive, not a SATA M.2 drive, as the enclosure is only compatible with NVMe.
  • Close other applications that might be consuming system resources or bandwidth.
• SSD not detected after installation:
  • Double-check the SSD installation steps, ensuring it's fully seated and secured.
  • For new SSDs, it may need to be initialized and formatted in your computer's Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS) before it appears.
  • Ensure the SSD is an NVMe (M-Key or B+M Key) and not a SATA (B-Key) M.2 SSD.
• Magnetic attachment not strong enough:
  • Ensure your phone or case is MagSafe compatible.
  • If using the included magnetic ring, ensure it is properly adhered to your device or case.
  • Thick phone cases may reduce magnetic strength.
• PD charging not working or slow:
  • Verify that your power adapter and USB-C cable support PD 100W.
