3. Setup
3.1 Unboxing and Initial Assembly
Carefully remove the trainer and all accessories from the packaging. Ensure all components are present before proceeding with assembly.

Figure 3: Compact design for easy storage
3.2 Leg Installation
Attach the trainer's legs securely. Ensure they are fully extended and locked into place to provide a stable base for your cycling sessions. The legs are designed to fold for compact storage when not in use.
3.3 Cassette Installation (if not pre-installed)
If your Direto XR did not come with a pre-installed cassette, you will need to install one. The trainer is compatible with Shimano/SRAM 9-11 speed, Shimano 12-speed road, and SRAM NX/SX Eagle 12-speed cassettes. For SRAM 12-speed cassettes, an XDR freehub body (sold separately) is required.
- Ensure the freehub body is clean.
- Slide the cassette onto the freehub body, aligning the splines.
- Secure the cassette with the lockring, tightening it to the manufacturer's specifications using a cassette tool and chain whip (not included).
For detailed visual instructions on cassette installation, refer to the official CYCPLUS R200 usage guidance video below, which demonstrates a similar process.

3.4 Bicycle Frame Installation
The Direto XR supports both quick-release and thru-axle systems. Use the appropriate adapters provided or your bicycle's original skewer/thru-axle.
- Remove your bicycle's rear wheel.
- If your bike has hydraulic disc brakes, install a disc brake pad spacer into the caliper to prevent accidental piston engagement.
- Shift your bicycle's rear derailleur to position the chain on the smallest chainring (front) and smallest cassette sprocket (rear).
- Carefully align the bicycle chain with the smallest sprocket on the trainer's cassette.
- Mount the bicycle frame onto the trainer, ensuring the dropouts sit correctly on the trainer's axle.
- Secure the frame using your bicycle's original quick-release skewer or thru-axle. For quick-release, gradually tighten the skewer's locknut while repeatedly opening and closing the flip lever until resistance feels firm but not excessive.
- Gently shake the bicycle to confirm it is securely locked to the trainer.
WARNING: Improperly securing your bike may cause serious equipment damage or personal injury. NEVER adjust the quick-release skewer or thru-axle while a rider is seated on the bicycle. Some bicycle frames are incompatible with the Direto XR. If you encounter abnormal resistance, misalignment, or structural interference during installation, STOP IMMEDIATELY and contact customer support for assistance.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power Connection
Connect the included power adapter to the trainer and then to a power source. While the trainer can be used without power, connecting it ensures full functionality, including resistance control and smart features. Downhill simulation requires a continuous power supply for optimal performance.
The trainer is designed to provide a realistic cycling experience, simulating steep climbs up to 24% and offering a maximum power output of 2300 watts.

4.2 App Integration and Connectivity
The Direto XR connects via ANT+ FE-C and Bluetooth to various indoor cycling software. This allows for interactive training sessions where the app controls the trainer's resistance based on the virtual terrain or workout plan.
- Download your preferred cycling app (e.g., Zwift, TrainerRoad, ROUVY, Elite My E-Training).
- Ensure Bluetooth or ANT+ is enabled on your device (smartphone, tablet, computer).
- Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to pair with the Elite Direto XR trainer.
- The trainer's built-in Optical Torque Sensor (OTS) provides power accuracy of ±1.5%, ensuring precise data for your workouts.

5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe down the trainer with a damp cloth to remove sweat and dust. Avoid using abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: When not in use, fold the legs for compact storage. Store in a dry, temperate environment away from direct sunlight.
- Chain and Cassette: Keep your bicycle's chain and cassette clean and lubricated for optimal performance and to minimize noise.
6. Troubleshooting
- Connectivity Issues: Ensure Bluetooth/ANT+ is enabled on your device and the trainer is powered on. Try restarting both the trainer and your device. Check for app updates.
- Resistance Problems: Verify the trainer is connected to a power source for full resistance control. If in ERG mode, ensure your app is correctly controlling the resistance.
- Noise: Excessive noise often comes from the bicycle's drivetrain. Ensure your chain and cassette are clean and well-lubricated. Check for proper bike alignment on the trainer.
- Installation Difficulties: If you experience binding or misalignment during bike installation, do not force it. Re-read the installation steps carefully and ensure all adapters are correctly used for your bike's axle type. Contact customer support if issues persist.
