Safety Information

  • Always disconnect the pump from the power source before handling, cleaning, or performing any maintenance.

Setup

  1. Attach Discharge Hose: Select the appropriate hose adapter (3/4" garden hose, GHT1-1/2", or multi-hose adapter) and securely attach your discharge hose to the pump's outlet. Ensure the connection is tight to prevent leaks. The built-in check valve will prevent water backflow.
  2. Position the Pump: Place the pump directly into the water on the pool cover or the area to be drained. Ensure the pump is stable and upright. The filter base is designed to protect the pump from large debris.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the 25 ft power cord into a standard 110-120V grounded electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

The FOTING Pool Cover Pump offers two operating modes: Automatic and Manual.

Switching Modes

To switch between modes, rotate the knob on the top of the pump:

  • Turn to 'Auto' for automatic operation.
  • Turn to 'Manual' for continuous operation.

Automatic Mode

In 'Auto' mode, the pump will automatically start when water reaches approximately 1 inch in depth. It will continue to pump until the water level drops to about 1/5 inch, then run for an additional 30 seconds before shutting off. This prevents unnecessary dry running.

Manual Mode

In 'Manual' mode, the pump will operate continuously as long as it is plugged in. This mode is suitable for draining small puddles or when you need to ensure all water is removed, even below the automatic sensor level. Monitor the pump closely in manual mode to prevent dry running.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Filter Base: The pump features a detachable filter base. Regularly inspect and clean the filter base to remove accumulated debris (leaves, dirt, etc.) to ensure optimal performance and prevent blockages. The base can be easily removed without tools.
  • Storage: When not in use, especially during colder months, clean the pump thoroughly, drain any remaining water, and store it in a dry, frost-free location.
