3. System Overview

3.1 Network Video Recorder (NVR)

The NVR is the central unit of your surveillance system. It supports up to 10 channels, allowing you to connect and manage multiple cameras. It comes with a pre-installed 1TB HDD for continuous 24/7 recording and offers HDMI/VGA outputs for monitor connection.

3.2 5MP PTZ Cameras

The included 5MP PTZ cameras provide high-definition video with a 360° panoramic view (355° horizontal, 90° vertical). Key features include AI human detection, automatic tracking, color night vision, two-way audio, and weatherproof design for outdoor use.

4. Setup

4.1 NVR Connection

  1. Connect the NVR to a power outlet using the provided power adapter.
  2. Connect the NVR to a monitor or TV using the HDMI or VGA cable.
  3. Connect the USB mouse to the NVR's USB port.
  4. For remote access and internet features, connect the NVR to your router using the Ethernet cable.

4.2 Camera Installation

  1. Choose suitable outdoor locations for your cameras, ensuring they have a clear field of view and are within range of the NVR's wireless signal.
  2. Use the provided screw pack and adjustment sticker to securely mount each camera.
  3. Connect each camera to a power outlet using its dedicated power adapter.
  4. For outdoor connections, use the waterproof covers to protect the cables.

4.3 Network Configuration

The NVR and cameras are designed for automatic wireless connection. Once powered on, they should pair automatically. If a camera is too far from the NVR, you can utilize the cascade connection feature where a closer camera acts as a repeater for a farther one.

5. Operating the System

5.1 Live View

After successful setup, you can view live footage from all connected cameras on the monitor connected to your NVR. Use the mouse to navigate the NVR interface.

5.2 Recording Modes

Your system supports various recording options:

  • 24/7 Continuous Recording: The 1TB HDD allows for continuous recording, automatically overwriting the oldest footage when full.
  • Event-Triggered Recording: Records only when motion or human detection is triggered, saving storage space.
  • Scheduled Recording: Set specific times for recording to occur.

5.3 Playback

Access recorded footage through the NVR interface. You can search by date, time, or event to review specific incidents.

5.4 PTZ Control & Auto-Tracking

The PTZ cameras offer a wide field of view. You can manually control the camera's pan (355° horizontal) and tilt (90° vertical) functions via the NVR or the mobile app. The auto-tracking feature automatically follows detected human movement, keeping the subject in frame.

5.7 Detection & Alarms

The system features advanced AI human detection, which intelligently distinguishes people from other moving objects, reducing false alarms. When a person is detected, the system can automatically trigger a white spotlight, an audible siren, and send instant notifications to your mobile app.

5.8 Night Vision

The cameras offer three night vision modes:

  • Infrared Mode: Provides clear black and white video in complete darkness.
  • Color Night Vision: Utilizes ambient light or the camera's spotlight to provide full-color video at night.
  • Smart Mode: Automatically switches to color night vision when motion is detected, otherwise stays in infrared mode.

6. Maintenance

6.1 HDD Management

The pre-installed 1TB HDD provides ample storage. The system is configured to automatically overwrite the oldest recordings when the disk is full. Regularly check the HDD status in the NVR settings to ensure optimal performance.

6.2 Firmware Updates

Periodically check for firmware updates for both the NVR and cameras via the NVR's system menu or the EseeCloud app. Keeping your firmware updated ensures the best performance and security features.

6.3 Cleaning

Gently clean camera lenses with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust or smudges that may affect image quality. Ensure NVR vents are clear of obstructions to prevent overheating.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No image on monitor: Ensure the NVR is powered on, the monitor is connected correctly via HDMI/VGA, and the monitor input source is selected correctly.
  • Cameras not connecting to NVR: Check if cameras are powered on and within wireless range. Try restarting both the NVR and cameras. If issues persist, re-pair cameras manually through the NVR settings.
  • No remote access via EseeCloud app: Verify the NVR is connected to the internet via Ethernet. Check your router's internet connection. Ensure the NVR is correctly added to the EseeCloud app and has network access permissions.
  • Frequent false alarms: Adjust the motion detection sensitivity in the NVR or app settings. Configure specific detection zones to exclude areas with irrelevant movement (e.g., trees swaying).
  • Poor night vision quality: Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from obstructions. Check if the infrared lights are working. Ensure there are no reflective surfaces close to the camera that might cause glare.
  • Two-way audio not working: Check microphone and speaker settings in the NVR or app. Ensure volume levels are adequate.
