5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Driving Mode (Continuous Recording)

When your vehicle is in operation, the dash cam automatically begins continuous loop recording. The front and interior cameras record simultaneously, capturing all events during your drive. Older footage is automatically overwritten as the storage fills, ensuring continuous recording.

5.2 Parking Mode (24/7 Sentry Mode)

Thanks to its OBD power connection, the dash cam operates continuously even when your vehicle is parked. In parking mode, the built-in G-sensor and radar detect collisions, vandalism, and human movement. Event-triggered clips are automatically uploaded to the cloud or saved to the local TF card, providing evidence against hit-and-runs or theft attempts.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

To maintain clear video quality, regularly clean the camera lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the lens coating. For the device body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth.

6.2 Firmware Updates

Periodically check the XEGA Pro app for available firmware updates. Keeping your dash cam's firmware up-to-date ensures optimal performance, new features, and bug fixes. Follow the in-app instructions for any update procedures.

6.3 Storage Management

If using a TF card, it is recommended to format it periodically (e.g., once a month) through the dash cam's settings in the app to prevent data corruption and ensure smooth recording. Back up any important footage before formatting.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your XEGA Dash Cam, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the OBD cable is securely connected to both the dash cam and the vehicle's OBD port. Check if the vehicle's ignition is on (if required by your vehicle's OBD port).
  • Cannot connect to app: Verify Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the dash cam is powered on. Try restarting both the app and the dash cam. Ensure you are following the correct pairing procedure (QR code or Bluetooth search).
  • No 4G LTE signal: Check your data plan subscription status. Ensure the dash cam is in an area with cellular coverage.
  • Recording issues: Ensure a TF card is inserted (if using local storage) and it is not full or corrupted. Format the TF card if necessary (after backing up data).
  • Poor video quality: Clean the camera lenses. Ensure the dash cam is securely mounted and not vibrating excessively.
  • Alerts not received: Check app notification settings on your phone and within the XEGA Pro app. Ensure the dash cam has a stable 4G LTE connection.
