Installation (Setup)
Before beginning, ensure the power is OFF at the circuit breaker. This device is designed for use with permanently installed fixtures only. Do not use with portable lamps.
Wiring Requirements:
- Neutral wire required.
- Ground wire required.
- For 3-way installations without an add-on switch, a hot line must be present at both switch locations. If this is not the case, an UltraPro add-on switch is required for multi-location control.
- Color-coded flying leads are provided for wiring. Use wire nuts to secure connections.
Installation Steps:
- Turn OFF Power: Locate the circuit breaker controlling the switch you are replacing and turn it OFF. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
- Remove Old Switch: Carefully remove the existing wall plate and switch. Disconnect the wires from the old switch.
- Identify Wires: Identify the LINE (hot), LOAD, NEUTRAL, and GROUND wires. If you are unsure, consult a qualified electrician.
- Wire the Dimmer: Connect the UltraPro dimmer wires to your home's wiring using wire nuts according to the diagram below.
- Black wire (LINE) to the incoming hot wire.
- Red wire (LOAD) to the wire going to the light fixture.
- White wire (NEUTRAL) to the neutral bundle.
- Green wire (GROUND) to the bare copper or green ground wire.
- Yellow wire (TRAVELER) for 3-way applications (connect to the traveler wire from the other switch location).
- Mount the Dimmer: Carefully tuck all wires into the electrical box. Secure the dimmer to the electrical box using the provided screws.
- Install Wall Plate: Attach the new wall plate (sold separately) over the dimmer.
- Restore Power: Turn ON power at the circuit breaker.
Wiring Diagram:

The QuickFit design reduces housing depth to 1.13 inches, making it easier to fit into standard electrical boxes. The dimmer uses flying leads instead of screw terminals, which may require additional wire nuts for connections.
Operation
Manual Control:
- ON/OFF: Press the top of the rocker switch to turn the connected light ON. Press the bottom of the rocker switch to turn the connected light OFF.
- Dimming: Press and hold the top of the rocker switch to increase brightness. Press and hold the bottom of the rocker switch to decrease brightness. Release the switch when the desired brightness level is reached.
Smart Control:
Once successfully paired with a Z-Wave hub, you can control the dimmer remotely via your hub's app, set schedules, and integrate with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Home.

Advanced Features
LED Indicator Customization:
The dimmer features a customizable LED indicator. Refer to your Z-Wave hub's documentation or the UltraPro support website for specific instructions on how to change the LED color (eight options) and operation mode (four options).
Multi-Switch Dimming:
For multi-location control with full dimming functionality, pair the 76602 dimmer with up to four UltraPro add-on switches. For basic ON/OFF control from a second location, a standard three-way switch can be used. Ensure proper wiring as described in the installation section.
Maintenance
The UltraPro Z-Wave Dimmer requires minimal maintenance. To clean, gently wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Troubleshooting
- Light does not turn ON/OFF or dim:
- Ensure power is ON at the circuit breaker.
- Check all wire connections for security and proper alignment according to the wiring diagram.
- Verify the bulb is functional and compatible with dimmers.
- Ensure the dimmer is not overloaded (check wattage specifications).
- Dimmer cannot be included/excluded from Z-Wave network:
- Ensure your Z-Wave hub is in inclusion/exclusion mode.
- Try moving the dimmer closer to the hub during the pairing process.
- Perform a factory reset on the dimmer (refer to UltraPro support for specific steps, usually involves a sequence of button presses).
- If previously included, try excluding it first, then re-including.
- 3-Way setup not working as expected:
- Confirm that a hot line is present at both switch locations if attempting a direct 3-way setup without an add-on switch.
- Verify traveler wire connections are correct.
- If using an add-on switch, ensure it is a compatible UltraPro add-on switch and wired correctly.
