8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your ORICO MG5 docking station, refer to the following common solutions:
- SSD Not Recognized:
- Ensure the M.2 SSD is correctly installed and secured within the enclosure.
- For new SSDs, ensure it has been formatted (e.g., exFAT) on a computer.
- If using a high-power SSD, connect an external power source to the docking station's 100W PD port.
- Try connecting the docking station to a different USB-C port on your host device or a different host device.
- Intermittent Connection/Slow Speeds:
- Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected at both ends.
- Verify that your host device's USB-C port supports 10Gbps data transfer.
- Connect an external power source to the 100W PD port, especially if multiple peripherals or a high-power SSD are in use.
- Avoid placing the device in areas with poor ventilation during heavy use, as excessive heat can affect performance.
- No Video Output via HDMI:
- Ensure the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the docking station and the display.
- Verify that your display is set to the correct HDMI input source.
- Confirm that your host device's USB-C port supports video output (DisplayPort Alternate Mode).
- Try a different HDMI cable or display.
- No Audio from 3.5mm AUX Port:
- Ensure headphones or microphone are fully plugged into the AUX port.
- Check your device's audio settings to ensure output is directed to the docking station.
