4. Setup
4.1 Powering the Device
The Vaydeer Metal Timed Lock Box can be powered in two ways:
- USB-C External Power: Connect the provided USB-C cable to the USB-C port on the device and to a suitable power adapter (not included).
- AA Batteries: Insert 4 AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment located on the underside of the device. Ensure correct polarity.
It is recommended to use both power sources for uninterrupted operation, especially for long locking periods.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Setting the Timer
- Ensure the lock box is open and powered on.
- Press the Settings button (gear icon) to select the time unit (Days, Hours, Minutes).
- Use the Up (arrow up) and Down (arrow down) buttons to adjust the desired time.
- Repeat for Days, Hours, and Minutes until your desired lock duration is set. The maximum duration is 365 days.
- Once the time is set, press the Lock button (padlock icon) to initiate the locking process. The box will emit 5 beeps as an audio alert before locking.
- Close the lid firmly. The box will now be locked for the set duration.

5.2 Child Lock Function
To prevent accidental changes to the timer or premature unlocking, activate the Child Lock:
- Locate the Child Lock button on the side/back of the device.
- Slide or press the Child Lock button to activate it. Once activated, the main control buttons on the top panel will become unresponsive.
- To deactivate, slide or press the Child Lock button again.

6. Emergency Unlock
In unforeseen circumstances, such as an incorrect timer setting or urgent need for access, the lock box provides an emergency unlock option. Refer to the dedicated Emergency Unlocking Service Card included with your product for the step-by-step procedure. This card contains specific instructions and a unique device ID required for the process.

7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: If using AA batteries, replace all four batteries simultaneously when the low battery indicator appears on the LED display.
- Storage: Store the lock box in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
