Installation and Setup

The Devo G7 Smart Door Lock is designed for easy installation without professional tools. Ensure your door meets the compatibility requirements before beginning.

1. Door Compatibility Check

Verify your door's specifications to ensure proper fit:

  • Door Thickness: 1-3/8" to 2-1/8" (35-55mm)
  • Door Hole: 1-1/2" or 2-1/8" (38 or 54mm)
  • Backset: 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60 or 70mm)

The lock is compatible with most standard American doors. It supports both left-handed and right-handed doors. Ensure your door is a single cylinder type and not mortise/integrated.

2. Physical Installation

Follow the step-by-step instructions provided in the included installation guide. Generally, this involves:

  1. Removing your existing deadbolt and handle.
  2. Installing the new latch and strike plate.
  3. Mounting the exterior assembly.
  4. Connecting the cable and installing the interior assembly.
  5. Securing the lock with screws.

Ensure all components are securely fastened and the lock operates smoothly before proceeding to electronic setup.

3. Battery Installation

The lock requires 8 AA batteries (not included). Install them into the battery compartment on the interior assembly. Ensure correct polarity.

4. App Connection (Tuya App)

  1. Download the Tuya Smart app from your mobile app store.
  2. Create an account or log in.
  3. Add the Devo G7 lock by following the in-app instructions. The lock connects directly to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (5GHz networks are not supported).
  4. Once connected, you can manage the lock remotely.

Unlocking Methods

The Devo G7 Smart Door Lock offers multiple ways to unlock:

  • Fingerprint: Place your registered finger on the sensor for quick access. The lock supports up to 100 fingerprints.

  • Passcode: Enter your personalized passcode on the touchscreen keypad. The anti-peep function allows you to enter random digits before or after your actual code to prevent others from guessing it.

  • IC Card: Tap one of the two provided IC cards on the lock's screen to unlock.

Auto-Lock Function

The auto-lock feature automatically locks the door after a set period. You can customize the auto-lock time from 5 seconds to 15 minutes via the app.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Devo G7 Smart Door Lock, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Battery Replacement: Replace all 8 AA batteries when the low battery alarm sounds or when notified by the app. Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Emergency Power: In case of complete battery depletion, use a Type-C cable to connect a power bank to the emergency charging port for temporary power to unlock the door.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the touchscreen and lock body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Environmental Conditions: The lock is IP54 waterproof and designed to operate between 5°F to 122°F (-15°C to 50°C). Avoid exposing it to extreme conditions outside this range.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Devo G7 Smart Door Lock, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Lock Not Responding:
    • Check battery levels. Replace batteries if low.
    • Use the emergency Type-C charging port with a power bank.
    • Try unlocking with a mechanical key.
  • Fingerprint Not Recognized:
    • Ensure your finger is clean and dry.
    • Try different angles or re-register your fingerprint in the app.
    • Ensure the fingerprint sensor is clean.
  • App Connection Issues:
    • Verify your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz.
    • Ensure the lock is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
    • Restart your router and the lock (by removing and reinserting batteries).
