1. Introduction

2. Safety Information

• Always turn off power at the circuit breaker before installing or servicing the fixture.
• Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician if you are unfamiliar with electrical wiring.
• Do not use these LED tubes with a standard dimmer unless specified.
• This fixture has been modified and no longer operates fluorescent lamps. Ballasts have been removed, and there is line voltage being supplied to the sockets. Do not install fluorescent lamps.
• Ensure proper grounding to prevent electrical shock.
• Keep away from radio, remote control door, etc., which may cause electromagnetic interference (EMI).

4. Installation Instructions (Ballast Bypass)

These LED tubes require a ballast bypass installation. This means the existing ballast in your fluorescent fixture must be removed or bypassed, and the fixture rewired to directly supply power to the LED tubes.

4.2. Step-by-Step Guide

1. Safety First: Turn off the power to the fixture at the circuit breaker. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
2. Access Ballast: Remove the cover of the fluorescent fixture to expose the ballast and wiring.
3. Remove/Bypass Ballast: Cut the wires connecting to the ballast. Remove the ballast from the fixture.
4. Rewire Fixture: Connect the live (hot) wire from the power source to one end of the fixture's lamp holders (tombstones). Connect the neutral wire from the power source to the other end of the fixture's lamp holders. Use wire nuts and electrical tape to secure all connections. Ensure all exposed wires are properly insulated.
5. Remove Starter (if applicable): If your fixture has a starter, remove it.
6. Install LED Tubes: Insert the JESLED 8FT LED tubes into the lamp holders. Ensure they are firmly seated.
7. Restore Power: Replace the fixture cover and restore power at the circuit breaker.

• Cleaning: Ensure the power is off before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface of the LED tubes. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Inspection: Periodically check the wiring connections for any signs of wear or damage.
• Replacement: With an average lifespan of 50,000+ hours, these LED tubes require minimal replacement. If a tube needs replacing, ensure power is off and follow the installation steps in reverse to remove, then install a new tube.

• Lights not turning on: Check the circuit breaker to ensure power is supplied. Verify all wiring connections are secure and correct according to the ballast bypass diagram. Ensure the LED tubes are properly seated in the lamp holders.
• Flickering: Ensure the ballast has been completely bypassed. These tubes are non-dimmable; do not use with a standard dimmer switch.
• Reduced Brightness: Ensure the tubes are clean and free from dust or debris.
• Electromagnetic Interference (EMI): If interference with other electronic devices occurs, ensure the lights are installed away from sensitive equipment.
