Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Device

Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the monocular's body. For the lens, use a lens cleaning cloth and solution specifically designed for optics. Avoid touching the lens with bare hands to prevent smudges and scratches.

2. Storage

When not in use, store the monocular in its carrying bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

3. Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the device frequently. Charge the battery regularly, even if the device is not in active use, to maintain optimal performance.

Troubleshooting

1. Device Not Powering On

Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged. Connect the device to a power source and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power it on again.

2. Unclear Image

Adjust the Diopter Adjustment Knob to fine-tune the focus for your vision. Ensure the lens is clean and free from dust or smudges. Environmental factors like extreme humidity can also affect image clarity.

3. Connectivity Issues with TopInfrared App

Ensure Bluetooth or Wi-Fi is enabled on your smartphone and the monocular. Restart both devices and try reconnecting. Check the app for any available updates.

4. Water Resistance (IP67)

The TOPDON TS004 has an IP67 rating, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and can withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. However, it is recommended to keep the thermal scope away from water to avoid electricity leakage or short circuit, as per the manufacturer's caution. Avoid prolonged submersion or exposure to high-pressure water jets.
