2. Safety Information

4. Setup and Installation
The DEVO G8 Smart Lock is designed for easy installation on most standard US doors without additional drilling. Follow these steps carefully:

4.1. Check Dimensions and Install the Latch
- Use the provided measuring cardboard to check your door's dimensions. Verify the door hole diameter (25mm), cross bore diameter (38mm/54mm), and backset (60mm/70mm).
- If the backset is 70mm, turn the faceplate 180° to extend the length of the latch. If 60mm, install the latch as is. The default length is 60mm.
- Insert the deadbolt latch into the door edge hole. Ensure the 'UP' marking on the latch is facing upwards. The latch must be in the retracted (unlocked) position when installed.
- Secure the latch with the provided screws.
4.2. Install the Exterior Assembly
- If your door's cross bore is 38mm, remove the adapter from the exterior assembly. If 54mm, keep the adapter.
- Keep the torque blade on the exterior assembly vertical. Align it with the hole on the latch and pass it through.
- Ensure the cable from the exterior assembly goes underneath the deadbolt and through the door.
4.3. Install the Mounting Plate
- Pass the wires from the exterior assembly through the mounting plate.
- Place the mounting plate against the door, ensuring it is correctly positioned with no gaps between the plate and the door panel.
- Select the correct screws (Screw A for door thickness 45-55mm, Screw B for door thickness 35-45mm) to install the mounting plate.
4.4. Install the Interior Assembly
- Adjust the rear lock knob on the interior assembly to the vertical position.
- Connect the cable from the exterior assembly to the interior assembly.
- Tuck the remaining cable into the back of the interior assembly.
- Pass the tailpiece vertically through the latch hole.
- Align the interior assembly with the mounting plate and secure it with Screw C.
- Insert Plug E into the designated hole.
4.5. Install Batteries
- Remove the battery cover from the interior assembly.
- Insert 8 AA batteries (not included) according to the polarity markings.
- Secure the battery cover with Screw D.
5. Operating Instructions
The DEVO G8 Smart Lock offers multiple ways to unlock and lock your door, both from the outside and inside.

5.1. Unlocking from the Outside

- Fingerprint Unlock: Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor. The lock will unlock in approximately 0.25 seconds. The lock supports up to 100 fingerprints.
- Passcode Unlock: Enter your 6-digit passcode on the keypad and press the confirm button. The anti-peeping password feature allows you to enter random digits before and after your actual code to prevent others from guessing it.
- IC Card Unlock: Tap a registered IC card against the card reader area on the lock.
- Mechanical Key Unlock: Insert the mechanical key into the keyhole and turn to unlock. This is an emergency backup method.
- APP Unlock: Use the Tuya app on your smartphone to remotely unlock the door. (Requires Wi-Fi connection).
- Voice Control: Integrate with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to unlock the door using voice commands.

5.2. Locking from the Outside
- One-Touch Locking: Press and hold the '#' button on the keypad for 2 seconds.
- Auto-Lock: The lock will automatically engage after a set period (configurable via the app) if not manually locked.
- APP Lock: Use the Tuya app on your smartphone to remotely lock the door.

5.3. Unlocking/Locking from the Inside
- Knob Control: Turn the knob on the interior assembly to manually lock or unlock the deadbolt.
- Privacy Mode: Activate privacy mode from the interior assembly to prevent external unlocking methods (except mechanical key) from working.

The DEVO G8 Smart Lock features built-in Wi-Fi, allowing direct connection to your home network (2.4GHz only, 5GHz is not supported) without a separate gateway. This enables remote control and monitoring via the Tuya app.
