Setup

Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the device. Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the charging port on the device and to a standard USB power adapter (not included). The charging indicator will show the charging status.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

  • Press the Power button (Power button icon) to turn the device on.
  • Press and hold the Power button to turn the device off.
  • The device features an auto-shutdown function after 2 minutes and 30 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery.

Using the Traditional Tape Measure

  • Pull the tape measure out to the desired length. The tape will automatically lock in place.
  • To retract the tape, press the release button located on the front of the device.
  • The tape features a strong magnetic hook for secure attachment to metallic surfaces.

Using the Laser Measurement Function

Basic Distance Measurement

  1. Turn on the device.
  2. Press the Power button once to activate the laser. A red laser dot will appear.
  3. Aim the laser dot at the target point.
  4. Press the Power button again to take the measurement. The distance will be displayed on the screen.

Switching Units of Measurement

Press the "U" button (Unit button icon) to cycle through available units: meters (m), feet (ft), inches (in), fractional inches, and combinations thereof.

Adjusting Reference Points

Press the Reference Point button (Reference point button icon) to switch between front and rear reference.

  • Front Reference: Measurement starts from the front edge of the device. Useful when placing the device against a wall or object.
  • Rear Reference: Measurement starts from the rear edge of the device. Useful when measuring from a corner or edge where the device's body is included in the measurement.

Select the appropriate reference point for accurate measurements depending on your starting position.

Measuring Modes

Press the Mode button (Mode button icon) to cycle through the 9 available measuring modes:

  • Distance: Standard single distance measurement.
  • Area: Measures length and width to calculate area.
  • Volume: Measures length, width, and height to calculate volume.
  • Pythagorean-1: Calculates the third side of a right triangle from two measured sides (e.g., height from base and hypotenuse).
  • Pythagorean-2: Calculates the height of an object using two hypotenuse measurements and one base measurement.
  • Pythagorean-3: Calculates the height of an object using three measurements.
  • Wall Area: Calculates the total area of multiple walls by measuring a common height once and then measuring the length of each wall.
  • Continuous Measurement: Provides real-time distance updates as you move the device. Includes Min/Max tracking.
  • Addition & Subtraction: Allows adding or subtracting multiple measurements.

Follow the on-screen prompts for each mode to input the required measurements.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery: For long-term storage, charge the battery to approximately 50% every three months to prolong its lifespan.
  • Laser Lens: Keep the laser emission and reception lenses clean to ensure accurate measurements.

Troubleshooting
