2. Setup
2.1 Battery Installation
The remote control requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included) for operation. Follow these steps to install the batteries:
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
- Press down on the tab and slide the cover downwards to open the compartment.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
- Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.

2.2 Initial Use
This SZHKHXD replacement remote control is an infrared unit and does not require any programming. Once batteries are correctly installed, it is ready for use with compatible Twin-Star Electric Fireplace models 2811043FSL and 28ii043FSL. Point the remote directly at the fireplace's infrared receiver.
3. Operation
The remote control features several buttons for controlling your Twin-Star electric fireplace. Refer to the image below for button identification and their corresponding functions.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning

4.2 Battery Replacement
Replace batteries when the remote control's range decreases or it becomes unresponsive. Always replace both AAA batteries at the same time with new ones. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
