Setting Time and Date

  1. Unscrew the Crown: For water resistance, the crown is typically screwed down. Rotate the crown counter-clockwise until it is free.
  2. Pull Crown to Position 2 (Date Setting): Gently pull the crown out to the first click position. Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can damage the movement.
  3. Pull Crown to Position 3 (Time Setting): Pull the crown out to the second click position. Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Ensure the AM/PM is correctly set by observing the date change.
  4. style="color: #0056b3;">Push and Screw Down Crown: Once the time and date are set, push the crown back in completely and screw it down clockwise firmly against the watch case to restore water resistance.

Initial Winding

As an automatic watch, it is powered by the motion of your wrist. If the watch has stopped or has not been worn for an extended period, it may require manual winding to initiate operation. With the crown in Position 1 (screwed down), rotate the crown clockwise approximately 20-30 times to provide an initial power reserve. The watch will then continue to wind itself with normal wear.

Operating Your Automatic Watch

Automatic Movement

Your Invicta Pro Diver watch features an automatic mechanical movement. This movement is powered by the natural motion of your wrist. When worn regularly, the oscillating weight inside the watch winds the mainspring, eliminating the need for a battery. If the watch is not worn for approximately 40 hours, it will stop and require manual winding or wearing to restart.

Water Resistance

This watch is water resistant to 200 meters (660 feet). This rating makes it suitable for professional marine activity, serious surface water sports, and skin diving. It is not suitable for saturation diving. Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before exposing the watch to water to maintain its water resistance integrity.

Unidirectional Rotating Bezel

The watch is equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel. This feature is designed for timing events, such as dive times. To use, align the zero marker on the bezel with the minute hand at the start of an event. The minute hand's position on the bezel will then indicate the elapsed time. The bezel rotates only counter-clockwise to prevent accidental increases in elapsed time, which is a critical safety feature for divers.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning

Regularly clean your watch with a soft, damp cloth. For the metal bracelet, a soft brush and mild soapy water can be used, ensuring to rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish and seals.

Storage

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. For prolonged storage, consider a watch winder to keep the automatic movement running and lubricated, or manually wind it periodically.

Service

Mechanical watches benefit from periodic servicing, typically every 3-5 years, to ensure the movement remains lubricated and accurate. Contact an authorized Invicta service center for professional maintenance.

Troubleshooting

Watch Not Running

  • If the watch has stopped, it may have run out of power reserve. Manually wind the watch by rotating the crown clockwise 20-30 times with the crown in Position 1 (screwed down).
  • Wear the watch for several hours to allow the automatic movement to build up power reserve.

Inaccurate Timekeeping

  • Ensure the watch is fully wound. An under-wound automatic watch may run inaccurately.
  • Avoid exposing the watch to strong magnetic fields (e.g., speakers, refrigerators, certain electronic devices), as magnetism can affect the accuracy of mechanical movements. If suspected, demagnetization by a professional may be required.
