Please read this entire manual before assembly and use of your Happygrill propane gas grill. Failure to follow these instructions could result in property damage, bodily injury, or death. Keep this manual for future reference.
General Safety Precautions:
- FOR OUTDOOR USE ONLY. Do not operate this appliance inside any building, garage, or other enclosed area.
- Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable liquids or vapors in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.
- An LP cylinder not connected for use shall not be stored in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.
- Always ensure the grill is placed on a level, stable surface.
- Keep children and pets away from the grill at all times.
- Never leave a lit grill unattended.
- Use heat-resistant gloves when handling hot surfaces.
Propane Gas Safety:
- This grill is designed for use with a standard 20 lb (9 kg) propane (LP) gas cylinder only.
- Always connect and disconnect the LP cylinder outdoors and away from ignition sources.
- Perform a leak test on all gas connections before initial use and after any cylinder change.
- Do not store a spare LP cylinder under or near this appliance.
- If you smell gas, immediately turn off the gas supply at the cylinder, extinguish any open flame, and open the grill lid. If odor persists, contact your gas supplier or fire department.
2. Product Overview

3. Setup and Assembly
Assembly of the Happygrill CA-HG3940 is required. Please refer to the separate assembly instructions included in your package for detailed, step-by-step guidance. Ensure all parts are present before beginning assembly.
Before You Begin:
- Unpack all components and verify against the parts list in the assembly manual.
- Gather necessary tools (typically a screwdriver and wrench, not included).
- Choose a suitable outdoor location for assembly, ensuring adequate space and ventilation.
Connecting the Propane Tank:
This grill requires a standard 20 lb (9 kg) LP gas cylinder (not included).
- Ensure all burner control knobs are in the "OFF" position.
- Place the LP cylinder securely in the integrated tank holder at the bottom of the grill.
- Connect the gas regulator hose to the LP cylinder valve. Turn the coupling nut clockwise until it is fully tightened. Do not overtighten.
- Perform a leak test as described below.
Leak Testing:
Always perform a leak test before initial use and after every LP cylinder change or if the grill has been moved.
- Mix a solution of equal parts liquid dish soap and water.
- Ensure all burner control knobs are in the "OFF" position.
- Turn on the LP cylinder valve slowly.
- Apply the soap solution to all gas connections, including the regulator connection to the cylinder, the hose connections to the manifold, and the burner connections.
- Look for bubbles. If bubbles appear, there is a leak. Immediately turn off the gas supply at the cylinder. Retighten the connection and retest. If the leak persists, do not use the grill and contact customer support.
- If no bubbles appear, the connections are secure. Turn off the gas supply at the cylinder and wipe off any excess solution.
4. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your Happygrill propane gas grill.

Lighting the Main Burners:
- Ensure the grill lid is open.
- Turn on the gas supply at the LP cylinder valve.
- Push and turn any main burner control knob to the "HIGH" position. You should hear a clicking sound as the igniter sparks.
- If the burner does not light within 5 seconds, turn the knob to "OFF", wait 5 minutes for gas to dissipate, and repeat the lighting procedure.
- Once lit, you can adjust the flame by turning the knob between "HIGH" and "LOW".
- Repeat for other main burners as needed.
Lighting the Side Burner:
- Open the side burner lid.
- Turn on the gas supply at the LP cylinder valve.
- Push and turn the side burner control knob to the "HIGH" position.
- If the burner does not light within 5 seconds, turn the knob to "OFF", wait 5 minutes, and repeat.
- Adjust flame as desired.
- Close the side burner lid when not in use.
Pre-heating:
For best cooking results, pre-heat the grill for 10-15 minutes with the lid closed on "HIGH" setting. The built-in thermometer will help monitor the internal temperature.

Cooking:
- Place food on the porcelain-enameled grilling rack.
- Use the warming rack for keeping cooked food warm or for indirect cooking.
- Monitor food temperature with a meat thermometer (not included) to ensure safe cooking.
- The cool-to-touch handles provide safety during cooking.
Shutting Down the Grill:
- Turn all burner control knobs to the "OFF" position.
- Turn off the gas supply at the LP cylinder valve.
- Allow the grill to cool completely before cleaning or moving.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Happygrill propane gas grill.

Cleaning the Cooking Grates:
- After each use, once the grill has cooled, brush off any food residue from the porcelain-enameled grates.
- For stubborn residue, remove the grates and wash with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before placing back in the grill.
Grease Management:
- The integrated grease cup collects drippings. Regularly check and empty the grease cup to prevent flare-ups and maintain cleanliness.
- Clean the grease cup with warm, soapy water.
Exterior Cleaning:
- Wipe down exterior surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners or steel wool, which can damage the finish.
Storage:
- When not in use, especially for extended periods, store the grill in a dry, protected area.
- Disconnect the LP cylinder and store it outdoors in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
- The large wheels allow for effortless movement for storage.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your grill, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps.
