2. Compatibility

2.1 Motorcycle Compatibility

• Designed for BMW Motorcycles: R1200GS, R1250GS, S1000XR, R1300GS.
• Not suitable for: BMW RT series, K1600 series, and R1250 GS 2019 models.
• Requires the motorcycle to have the native BMW control wheel and the original BMW navigation base.
• For tire pressure monitoring (TPMS) data, your motorcycle must have TPMS pre-installed.

2.2 Smartphone Compatibility

• Apple CarPlay: Requires iPhone with iOS 13 or later.
• Android Auto: Requires Android phone with Android 11 or later, supporting 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
• Note: Not fully compatible with Samsung Note and S series, Huawei, and Xiaomi phones.

4. Setup and Installation

The W602BS Pro features a plug-and-play design for easy installation on BMW motorcycles equipped with an original navigation base.

4.1 Mounting the Device

1. Locate the original BMW navigation base on your motorcycle.
2. Align the Carpuride W602BS Pro screen with the base.
3. Gently slide and clip the screen onto the original base until it locks securely into position. No complex wiring is required.

4.2 Compass Calibration

The device features a waterproof Type-C port for convenient compass calibration.

• Connect a 5V 3A power supply to the Type-C port.
• Follow the on-screen prompts to calibrate the compass. This process does not require additional accessories.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto Connection

Connect your smartphone wirelessly to access navigation, calls, music, and messages.

For Apple CarPlay:

1. On your iPhone, enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
2. On the Carpuride screen, navigate to the CarPlay icon and select it.
3. On your iPhone, go to Bluetooth settings, find 'Carpuride-xxxx', and connect. Allow contacts and favorites sync if prompted.
4. Confirm connection on both devices.

For Android Auto:

1. On your Android phone, enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
2. On the Carpuride screen, navigate to the Android Auto icon and select it.
3. On your Android phone, go to Bluetooth settings, find 'Carpuride-xxxx', and pair. Allow access to messages and activate Android Auto if prompted.
4. Confirm connection on both devices.

5.2 Native Wonder Wheel Control

Operate the W602BS Pro seamlessly using your BMW motorcycle's native Wonder Wheel. The functionality of the Wonder Wheel may vary depending on your BMW motorcycle model.

• K1 (Return Button): Exit current function, return to previous level.
• K2 (Confirm Button): Confirm to enter the current cursor function of the Wonder Wheel.
• K3 (Scroll Up): Rotate upwards, the current cursor moves to the previous icon.
• K4 (Scroll Down): Rotate downwards, the current cursor moves to the next icon.
• K5 (Long Press for 3s in Android Auto): Return the cursor from the detailed APP operation page to the previous operation page. (In CarPlay, use K1 to exit the previous operation screen interface without pressing K5).
• K6 (Long Press for 5s): Switch 'TFT' mode to 'NAV' mode.
• K7 (Long Press for 5s): Switch 'NAV' mode to 'TFT' mode.

5.3 Audio Modes and Dual Bluetooth Connection

The W602BS Pro supports two audio output modes and simultaneous connection of two Bluetooth headsets/helmets.

BT Trans Mode (Dual Bluetooth):

This mode allows two Bluetooth headsets/helmets to be connected simultaneously for shared music and navigation synchronization between rider and passenger.

1. Ensure any previous Bluetooth connections on your headsets are disconnected and cleared.
2. On the Carpuride screen, go to "Audio Output" and select "BT Trans" mode.
3. Click "Search BT" to find and connect your first Bluetooth headset (Bluetooth 1). Repeat for the second headset (Bluetooth 2).
4. Adjust the volume on the device.

Note: Voice assistant commands and phone call audio are transmitted only to Bluetooth 1. The main rider should connect to Bluetooth 1. When intercom mode is enabled, music will be muted and will resume automatically when intercom mode is disabled.

iPlay/Auto Mode (Bluetooth Audio):

This mode uses your phone to connect to a single Bluetooth headset for audio playback.

1. Ensure any previous Bluetooth connections on your headset are disconnected and cleared from the Carpuride screen.
2. Use your phone to connect CarPlay or Android Auto to the Carpuride screen.
3. On the Carpuride screen, go to "Audio Output" and select "iPlay/Auto" mode.
4. Use your phone to connect your Bluetooth headset for audio playback. You can adjust the volume on your phone.

5.4 Intercom Function

The intercom function allows instant communication between rider and passenger within a 10m range.

1. First, ensure both rider and passenger Bluetooth headsets are connected in BT Trans mode (Bluetooth 1 and Bluetooth 2).
2. On the Carpuride screen, click the intercom icon on the homepage to enable intercom mode.
3. You can now make intercom calls between Bluetooth 1 and 2.
4. To disable, click the intercom icon again. Music will resume automatically.

Note: Both headsets must have a microphone and support intercom functionality.

5.5 SOS Mode (Emergency Function)

The SOS mode automatically calls for help in critical situations by detecting sudden changes in vehicle tilt and acceleration.

1. Set Emergency Contact: Go to Settings > System > SOS on the CarPlay screen and set an emergency contact number.
2. Ensure CarPlay/Android Auto is connected.
3. If the device detects a sudden change in the vehicle's tilt angle and acceleration, an SOS window will automatically appear.
4. After a 10-second countdown, your phone will dial the preset emergency number. You can cancel the call by tapping the countdown number before it ends.

7. Troubleshooting

• Device not powering on: Ensure the device is correctly clipped into the original BMW navigation base and receiving power.
• CarPlay/Android Auto not connecting:
  • Verify your smartphone meets the compatibility requirements (iOS 13+ for iPhone, Android 11+ with 5GHz Wi-Fi for Android).
  • Check if your phone model is listed as incompatible (e.g., some Samsung Note/S series, Huawei, Xiaomi).
  • Ensure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on your phone and the device.
  • Clear previous Bluetooth connections and try pairing again.
• No tire pressure data: Confirm that your BMW motorcycle has TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) pre-installed. The W602BS Pro cannot provide this data if TPMS is not present on the bike.
• Type-C port not charging phone: The Type-C port is designed for compass calibration and power input only; it does not support charging mobile phones or motorcycle batteries.
• Intercom issues:
  • Ensure both rider and passenger headsets have microphones and support intercom functionality.
  • Verify both headsets are connected in BT Trans mode.
  • Note the effective range of the intercom is approximately 10m.
• Voice assistant audio only on Bluetooth 1: This is by design. Voice assistant commands and phone call audio are routed exclusively to Bluetooth 1. Ensure the main rider connects to Bluetooth 1.
