Introduction
The Monstrum B.O.P. (Bird Of Prey) Red Dot Sight is a compact, enclosed optical system designed for shotguns. This model features a 3 MOA reticle and comes with a fixed universal shotgun mount, providing enhanced aiming capabilities for various shotgun platforms.
Key features include an enclosed housing for protection against dust and moisture, a low-draw optical system offering up to 50,000 hours of battery life, and Shake Awake motion sensing technology for efficient power management. The sight provides parallax-free aiming and electronically controlled illumination with multiple intensity levels for visibility in diverse lighting conditions.

Setup
Mounting the Red Dot Sight
The B.O.P. Red Dot Sight comes pre-attached to a universal shotgun mounting system. This system is designed for compatibility with most popular drilled and tapped shotgun models. Installation involves securing the mount directly into the factory mounting holes on the receiver.
- Compatibility: The mount is compatible with shotgun models featuring a Weaver 93 drill hole pattern, including but not limited to: Mossberg 500/590/835/930/Shockwave, Remington 870 Express Tactical, Winchester SXP Defender / 1300, M1/M2/M3/Super Black Eagle, and Stoeger M3000/M3500.
- Hardware: The package includes both #8-40 and #6-48 screw sets in multiple lengths to ensure compatibility across different makes and models.
- Installation: Use the appropriate screws to attach the mount to your shotgun's receiver. Recommended torque specification for the mounting screws is 15 in/lbs. Ensure screws are tightened evenly to prevent damage and ensure a secure fit.

Battery Installation
The B.O.P. Red Dot Sight operates on a single 3V CR2032 lithium-ion battery. The battery compartment features a side-loading cap, designed to allow battery replacement without affecting the sight's zero.
- Locate the battery cap on the side of the red dot housing.
- Using a suitable tool (e.g., a coin or flathead screwdriver), unscrew the battery cap counter-clockwise.
- Insert a fresh CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing outwards.
- Replace the battery cap and screw it clockwise until snug. Do not overtighten.

Operating Instructions
Power On/Off and Shake Awake Technology
The B.O.P. Red Dot Sight features Shake Awake motion sensing technology to conserve battery life.
- Activation: To activate the red dot and enable Shake Awake mode, press either the '+' or '-' button located on the side of the sight.
- Automatic Shut-off: The red dot will automatically shut off after one hour of no motion detected.
- Re-activation: The sight will instantly re-activate upon detecting movement.
- Manual Shut-off: To manually turn off the sight, press and hold the '-' button for approximately 3 seconds.
Reticle and Illumination Adjustment
This model features a 3 MOA dot reticle. The illumination intensity can be adjusted electronically.
- Brightness Adjustment: Press the '+' button to increase reticle brightness and the '-' button to decrease brightness. There are multiple levels of intensity, including daylight bright settings.
Windage and Elevation Adjustment
Adjustments for windage and elevation are made using the adjustment turrets located on the top and side of the sight. Each click of the adjustment turret moves the point of impact by a specific value (typically 1 MOA or 1/2 MOA, refer to specifications for exact value).
- Remove the protective caps from the windage and elevation turrets.
- Use a small flathead screwdriver or the included adjustment tool to turn the turrets.
- Elevation: Turning the top turret clockwise will move the point of impact down. Turning it counter-clockwise will move the point of impact up.
- Windage: Turning the side turret clockwise will move the point of impact right. Turning it counter-clockwise will move the point of impact left.
- Make small adjustments and verify point of impact with test shots until the sight is zeroed.
- Replace the protective caps after zeroing.

Maintenance
Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your red dot sight.
- Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth or a lens pen to gently wipe the optical surfaces. For stubborn smudges, a small amount of lens cleaning solution designed for optics can be applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Housing: Wipe the exterior housing with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Ensure the battery cap is securely fastened to prevent moisture ingress.
Battery Replacement
Replace the CR2032 battery when the reticle appears dim or fails to illuminate. The low-draw optical system provides up to 50,000 hours of battery life, but actual life may vary based on brightness settings and usage. Refer to the 'Battery Installation' section under Setup for detailed instructions.
Storage
When not in use, store the red dot sight in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Consider removing the battery if storing for extended periods (several months or more) to prevent potential leakage, although the side-loading design minimizes this risk.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Red dot does not illuminate. | Battery is dead or incorrectly installed. Sight is manually turned off. | Check battery orientation and ensure it is a fresh CR2032. Press '+' button to turn on. |
| Red dot is dim or flickers. | Low battery. Low brightness setting. | Replace battery. Press '+' button to increase brightness. |
| Point of impact shifts. | Mounting screws are loose. Improper zeroing. | Check and re-torque mounting screws to 15 in/lbs. Re-zero the sight. |
| Debris visible inside optic. | Manufacturing defect or seal compromise. | Contact Monstrum customer support for assistance. Do not attempt to disassemble the optic. |
