Please read this manual carefully to ensure proper use and to maximize your enjoyment of the device. Keep this manual for future reference.

3. Product Overview
3.1 Front and Top Panel Controls

3.2 Rear and Side Connections

4. Setup
4.1 Power Connection
The boombox can be powered by AC mains or batteries.
- AC Power: Connect the supplied power cable to the AC input on the boombox and then to a standard wall outlet (220V).
- Battery Power: For portable use, insert 6 x 1.5V 'C' type batteries (not included) into the battery compartment located on the bottom of the unit. Ensure correct polarity.
4.2 Antenna Adjustment
Extend the telescopic antenna fully for optimal FM and DAB+ radio reception. Adjust its position to improve signal strength if needed.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off and Source Selection
- Press the STANDBY button to turn the unit on or off.
- Press the SOURCE button repeatedly to cycle through available modes: DAB+, FM, CD, Cassette, Bluetooth, AUX, USB. The selected mode will be shown on the LCD display.
5.2 Radio Operation (DAB+/FM)
- Select DAB+ or FM mode using the SOURCE button.
- Auto Scan: In DAB+ mode, the unit will automatically scan for available stations upon first use. In FM mode, press and hold the TUNE +/- buttons for automatic station search.
- Manual Tuning: Briefly press the TUNE +/- buttons to manually adjust the frequency.
- Presets: To save a station, tune to the desired station, press and hold the PROG/PRESET/OK button, select a preset number using TUNE +/-, and press PROG/PRESET/OK again to confirm. To recall a preset, briefly press PROG/PRESET/OK and select the desired preset.
5.3 CD/MP3 Playback
- Open the CD compartment cover. Insert a CD (audio CD or MP3 CD) with the label side facing up. Close the cover.
- Select CD mode. The CD will begin playing automatically.
- Play/Pause: Press the PLAY/PAUSE button.
- Skip Tracks: Press the SKIP +/- buttons to go to the next or previous track.
- Fast Forward/Rewind: Press and hold the SKIP +/- buttons.
- Repeat/Shuffle: Press the REPEAT/SHUFFLE button to cycle through repeat modes (e.g., repeat one, repeat all) or shuffle playback.
5.4 Cassette Playback
- Open the cassette compartment. Insert a cassette tape. Close the compartment.
- Select CASSETTE mode.
- Play: Press the PLAY button.
- Stop/Eject: Press the STOP/EJECT button.
- Fast Forward/Rewind: Press the FFWD or REW buttons.
5.5 Bluetooth Operation
- Select BLUETOOTH mode. The display will show "PAIRING" or "BT PAIR".
- On your smartphone or other Bluetooth device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices. Select "MEDION DRX-1 Plus" from the list.
- Once paired, you can play audio from your device through the boombox.
5.6 AUX Input
- Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone) to the AUX IN jack using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
- Select AUX mode. Audio from the connected device will play through the boombox.
5.7 USB Playback
- Insert a USB storage device containing MP3 files into the USB port.
- Select USB mode. The unit will automatically detect and begin playing MP3 files.
- Use the PLAY/PAUSE and SKIP +/- buttons for control.
5.8 Sound Modes (EQ)
Press the EQ button to cycle through the 6 available sound profiles:
- Bass: Emphasizes low frequencies.
- Flat: Neutral sound.
- Rock: Optimized for rock music.
- Pop: Optimized for pop music.
- Classical: Optimized for classical music.
- Jazz: Optimized for jazz music.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
- Always unplug the unit from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- For the CD lens, use a specialized CD lens cleaner.
- For the cassette heads, use a cassette head cleaning kit.
6.2 Battery Care
- Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Replace all batteries at the same time with new ones of the same type.
6.3 Storage
Store the boombox in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
