3. Setup & Mounting

3.2 Diopter Adjustment

To achieve a clear reticle image, adjust the diopter. Point the riflescope at a plain, bright surface (like a wall or open sky) and quickly glance through the eyepiece. Rotate the eyepiece until the reticle appears sharp and crisp. Avoid staring through the eyepiece for too long, as your eye will compensate for blurriness.

4. Operating Your Riflescope

4.1 Magnification Adjustment

The Triumph HD offers a 3-9x magnification range. Rotate the magnification adjustment ring to change the power. The second focal plane (SFP) reticle maintains its size relative to the target as magnification changes, making it ideal for quick target acquisition.

4.2 Elevation and Windage Turrets

The riflescope features capped elevation and windage turrets. Each click adjusts the point of impact by 1/4 MOA. The turrets are finger-adjustable and resettable to zero after sighting in. Lift the turret cap, make adjustments, and then replace the cap to protect the turrets from accidental movement and environmental elements.

4.3 Dead-Hold BDC (MOA) Reticle

The Dead-Hold BDC reticle features a customized hashmark design that helps eliminate guesswork for holdover and windage corrections. This reticle is effective for use at varying ranges where estimating bullet drop is a concern. The reticle is in the second focal plane (SFP), meaning its apparent size remains constant regardless of the magnification setting, while the subtensions change with magnification.

5. Maintenance & Care

5.1 Cleaning the Lenses

For optimal performance, keep the lenses clean. Use the included lens cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn smudges, use a lens cleaning solution and follow the manufacturer's instructions. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the lens coatings.

5.2 General Care

Store the riflescope in the neoprene cover when not in use to protect it from dust and scratches. Avoid extreme temperatures and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Periodically check all moving parts for smooth operation and ensure all screws are tightened to their recommended specifications.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Blurred Image

If the image appears blurry, first re-adjust the diopter as described in Section 3.2. Ensure the objective lens is clean and free of debris. If the issue persists, check for proper focus at the target distance.

6.2 Zero Retention Issues

If the riflescope is not holding zero, check the mounting rings for proper torque. Ensure the rings are securely fastened to both the riflescope tube and the rifle's rail. Verify that the rifle itself is in good working order and that ammunition is consistent.
