Figure 3: Visual guide showing the four steps to jump-start a car: 1. Insert the smart clamps into the jump starter. 2. Connect the clamps to the car battery. 3. Start the engine. 4. Remove the clamps.
- Prepare the Vehicle: Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off and all accessories (lights, radio, etc.) are turned off.
- Connect Smart Clamps to Jump Starter: Firmly insert the smart jumper clamps into the DO anti-reverse interface on the jump starter. Ensure a secure connection.
- Connect Clamps to Vehicle Battery:
- Connect the RED positive (+) clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle battery.
- Connect the BLACK negative (-) clamp to the negative (-) terminal of the vehicle battery.
The smart clamps will indicate a correct connection with a solid green light. If a red light or flashing light appears, check connections for proper polarity.
- Start the Vehicle: Once the clamps are correctly connected and the smart clamps show a solid green light, start the vehicle's engine. For severely dead batteries (below 9V), press the 'Boost' button on the smart clamps if available, then attempt to start the vehicle within 30 seconds.
