1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the GALAX PRO 710W Mini Circular Saw. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new tool. Please read it thoroughly before first use and keep it for future reference.
The GALAX PRO Mini Circular Saw is a versatile and compact power tool designed for cutting various materials such as wood, plastic, and soft metals. Its powerful 710W motor and adjustable features make it suitable for a range of DIY projects and small-scale renovations.
2. General Safety Instructions
Always observe basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury when using power tools.
2.1. Work Area Safety
- Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
- Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
- Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2.2. Electrical Safety
- Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way.
- Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
- Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
- Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling, or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts.
2.3. Personal Safety
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, a dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection.
- Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
- Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source, picking up, or carrying the tool.
- Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
- Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
- Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts.
2.4. Circular Saw Specific Safety
- Kickback Prevention: Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched, bound, or misaligned saw blade, causing an uncontrolled saw to lift up and out of the workpiece toward the operator. Always maintain a firm grip with both hands on the saw and position your body to either side of the blade, but not in line with the blade.
- Never use damaged or incorrect blade washers or bolt. The blade washers and bolt were specifically designed for your saw, for optimum performance and safety of operation.
- Always ensure that the blades are in good condition, correctly mounted, and able to turn freely.
- Do not reach underneath the workpiece. The guard cannot protect you from the blade below the workpiece.
- Adjust the cutting depth to the thickness of the workpiece. Less than a full tooth of the blade teeth should be visible below the workpiece.

5. Operation
5.1. Powering On/Off
To start the saw, press the safety lock switch and then squeeze the ON/OFF trigger switch. To stop the saw, release the trigger switch.
5.2. Adjusting Cutting Depth
The cutting depth can be adjusted to suit the thickness of your workpiece. Loosen the depth locking knob, move the base plate to the desired depth, and then tighten the knob securely. The maximum cutting depth is 1-2/3'' at 90° and 1'' at 45°.

5.3. Adjusting Cutting Angle (Bevel Cuts)
For bevel cuts, the cutting angle can be adjusted from 0° to 45°. Loosen the angle locking knob, tilt the saw to the desired angle, and then tighten the knob. Ensure the angle is securely set before making a cut.

5.4. Cutting Techniques
Before starting any cut, ensure the workpiece is securely clamped. Allow the saw blade to reach full speed before engaging with the material. Apply steady, even pressure and guide the saw along the cutting line. Avoid forcing the saw, as this can lead to kickback or damage to the tool/material.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your circular saw.
- Cleaning: Always unplug the saw before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the housing. Do not use aggressive detergents or solvents. Keep ventilation slots clear of dust and debris.
- Blade Care: Regularly inspect saw blades for sharpness and damage. Replace dull or damaged blades immediately to prevent kickback and ensure clean cuts.
- Storage: Store the saw in a dry, secure location out of reach of children.
