1. Introduction and Overview

This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your Monstrum Marauder 2-10x40 MPVO Rifle Scope. Designed for versatility, this scope features a variable 2-10x magnification, a 40mm objective lens for enhanced light transmission, and an Adjustable Objective (AO) for precise focus and parallax elimination. It includes an illuminated FMR01 reticle and comes with 1-inch scope rings for mounting.

2. Setup and Mounting

2.1 Mounting the Scope

The Monstrum Marauder 2-10x40 MPVO scope is designed for use with 1-inch diameter scope rings. Ensure your rifle is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction before beginning installation.

1. Attach the included 1-inch scope rings to your rifle's mounting rail, ensuring they are spaced appropriately for optimal eye relief.
2. Place the scope into the bottom halves of the rings.
3. Position the scope to achieve proper eye relief. This is the distance between your eye and the eyepiece when looking through the scope, allowing for a full field of view without black rings.
4. Ensure the reticle is level. You can use a reticle leveling tool or a plumb bob for accuracy.
5. Install the top halves of the scope rings and tighten the screws evenly, following the manufacturer's recommended torque specifications to prevent damage to the scope tube.

2.2 Diopter Adjustment

The diopter adjustment allows you to fine-tune the eyepiece focus to your individual eyesight, ensuring the reticle appears sharp and clear.

1. Point the scope at a plain, bright background (e.g., a clear sky or a blank wall).
2. Look through the scope and quickly glance away.
3. While quickly glancing back, adjust the diopter ring (located at the rear of the eyepiece) until the reticle appears perfectly sharp. Avoid staring through the scope for too long, as your eye may compensate for an out-of-focus reticle.

3. Operating the Scope

3.1 Magnification Adjustment

The scope features a variable magnification from 2x to 10x. The magnification ring is located at the front of the eyepiece. Rotate this ring to increase or decrease the magnification. A custom throw lever is included for quick and tactile adjustments.

3.2 Adjustable Objective (AO) for Parallax and Focus

The Adjustable Objective (AO) lens, located at the front of the scope, allows for precise focusing of the target image and elimination of parallax. Parallax is the apparent shift in the reticle's position relative to the target when the shooter's eye moves. Proper AO adjustment ensures the target and reticle are on the same focal plane, eliminating parallax and sharpening the image.

To use the AO:

1. Estimate the distance to your target.
2. Rotate the AO dial to the corresponding distance marking. The dial has numbers indicating distances (e.g., 10m, 20, 35, 50, 100, 200, ∞).
3. Look through the scope. If the image is not perfectly sharp, make small adjustments to the AO dial until the target image is in its sharpest focus.
4. To verify parallax elimination, move your head slightly while looking through the scope. If the reticle appears to move relative to the target, further fine-tune the AO dial. When parallax is eliminated, the reticle will remain stationary on the target regardless of slight head movements.

Important: If the AO dial setting differs significantly from the actual range of your target, the target may appear blurry and out of focus, and parallax will be present.

3.3 Reticle Illumination

The FMR01 reticle features illumination for improved visibility in low-light conditions. The illumination control is an inline dial located on the left side of the scope's main tube. Rotate the dial to turn the illumination on and adjust its brightness level. The reticle offers both red and green illumination options.

3.4 Windage and Elevation Adjustments

The scope features capped windage and elevation turrets, located on the top and right side of the main tube, respectively. Each click of the turret adjusts the point of impact by 1/4 MOA (Minute of Angle).

1. Remove the turret caps.

4. FMR01 Reticle Information

The FMR01 reticle provides a clean sight picture with a central aiming point and holdover marks for bullet drop compensation.
