1. Introduction

The Electro-Voice EVIVA12P is a 12-inch powered portable loudspeaker designed for musicians, DJs, and small venues. It combines Electro-Voice's renowned sound quality with robust durability and user-friendly features for rapid deployment and single-person setup. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation of your EVIVA12P loudspeaker.

2. Safety Information

Please read and retain these safety instructions. Failure to follow these instructions may result in fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to the product or property.

  • Power Source: Connect the unit only to a power supply of the type specified in this manual or on the unit.
  • Grounding: Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug.
  • Power Cord Protection: Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
  • Ventilation: Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Heat: Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  • Water & Moisture: Do not use this apparatus near water. Do not expose to dripping or splashing.
  • Cleaning: Clean only with a dry cloth.
  • Servicing: Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.

4. Setup

4.1 Physical Placement

The EVIVA12P is designed for versatile placement. It can be mounted on a standard speaker pole or used as a floor monitor. Ensure the speaker is placed on a stable, level surface or securely mounted to prevent accidental falls.

4.2 Powering On

  1. Connect the supplied AC power cable to the AC inlet on the rear panel of the loudspeaker.
  2. Plug the other end of the AC power cable into a suitable power outlet.
  3. Press the POWER button on the rear panel. The power LED will illuminate.

4.3 Connecting Audio Sources

The EVIVA12P features two XLR combo jack mic/line inputs for connecting various audio sources.

  • Line Level Devices: Connect your line-level device (e.g., mixer, instrument with line output) using an XLR or 1/4-inch TRS cable to either Input 1 or Input 2. Adjust the corresponding GAIN knob on the rear panel to achieve the desired volume.
  • Microphones: Connect your microphone using an XLR cable to either Input 1 or Input 2. For microphone signals, you will need to increase the gain via the main menu.

4.4 Bluetooth Audio Streaming

The EVIVA12P supports Bluetooth audio streaming from compatible devices.

  1. Press the MAIN/MENU knob on the rear panel to access the main menu.
  2. Navigate to the Settings section.
  3. Select BT Audio Pairing.
