Operating Instructions

1. Grind Adjustment (Stepless Micrometric Regulation System)

The Eureka Atom W 65 features a patented stepless micrometric regulation system for precise grind size adjustment. This system adjusts the lower burr, ensuring that your grind setting is maintained even after maintenance.

  • To adjust the grind, turn the grind adjustment knob located on the side of the grinder.
  • Turn the knob clockwise for a finer grind (e.g., for espresso).
  • Turn the knob counter-clockwise for a coarser grind (e.g., for drip coffee, though this grinder is optimized for espresso).
  • Make small adjustments and test the grind to achieve the desired consistency. It is recommended to adjust the grind while the motor is running to prevent burr blockage.

2. Using the Touch Display (Instant Grind Weighing Technology)

The Atom W 65 is equipped with a touch display and Instant Grind Weighing Technology, allowing for precise, dose-by-weight grinding.

  • Power On: Flip the main power switch. The display will illuminate.
  • Dose Programming: The display typically shows programmable dose buttons (e.g., 1, 2, 3) and a continuous grind option.
    • To program a dose, select the desired dose button (e.g., '1').
    • Place your portafilter on the adjustable "Hands-Free" fork.
    • Press and hold the selected dose button until the desired weight is dispensed. The grinder will remember this weight for future use.
    • Repeat for other dose buttons as needed.
  • Manual Grinding: Select the continuous grind option (often represented by a 'menu' or 'manual' icon) for on-demand grinding without a pre-set weight.

3. Grinding Process (ACE System & Hands-Free Fork)

  • Place your portafilter securely onto the adjustable "Hands-Free" fork. Adjust the fork's position if necessary to fit your portafilter.
  • Select your desired dose button or the continuous grind option on the touch display.
  • The grinder will begin dispensing coffee. The Instant Grind Weighing Technology will ensure the precise amount is dispensed for programmed doses.
  • The ACE System actively works to prevent clumps and static, providing a clean and consistent dose directly into your portafilter.
  • Once grinding is complete, remove your portafilter.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Eureka Atom W 65 grinder. Always unplug the grinder before cleaning.

1. Cleaning the Bean Hopper

  • Remove the hopper from the grinder body.
  • Wash the hopper and lid with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reattaching.
  • Wipe the area where the hopper sits on the grinder body with a dry cloth to remove any coffee dust.

  • Remove the bean hopper.
  • Locate the screws securing the upper burr carrier. Depending on the model, there may be 3 to 9 screws.

  • Use a brush or vacuum cleaner to remove all coffee grounds from both the upper and lower burrs, and the grinding chamber.
  • Do not use water or liquid cleaners on the burrs.
  • Reassemble the burr carrier, ensuring it is seated correctly, and tighten the screws.

3. General Cleaning

  • Wipe the exterior of the grinder with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
