Setup

1. Battery Installation

The vault requires 4 AA batteries (not included) to power the digital keypad. Ensure the vault door is open before installing batteries.

1. Locate the battery compartment on the inside of the vault door.
2. Remove the battery cover.
3. Insert 4 new AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
4. Replace the battery cover securely.
5. Test the keypad by pressing any button; a beep should confirm power.

2. Setting a Personal Code

With the vault door open, you can set your personal 6-digit access code.

1. Press the red reset button located inside the vault, near the hinge. You will hear a beep.
2. On the keypad, enter your desired 6-digit code.
3. Press the "E" button to confirm. You will hear a confirmation beep.
4. Test your new code with the door open before closing it. Enter your 6-digit code, then press "E". The locking bolts should retract.

Important: Remember your code. If you forget it, you will need to use the emergency override key.

3. Mounting the Vault

The vault includes pre-drilled mounting holes for secure installation. It is recommended to mount the vault to a stable surface to prevent theft.

1. Choose a suitable location for mounting.
2. Mark the positions for drilling using the vault's pre-drilled holes as a template.
3. Drill pilot holes into the mounting surface.
4. Align the vault with the drilled holes and secure it using the provided mounting hardware.
5. Ensure the vault is firmly attached and does not wobble.

Operating the Vault

1. Opening with Digital Code

1. Enter your 6-digit personal code on the keypad.
2. Press the "E" button.
3. The locking bolts will retract, and the door can be opened by turning the handle.
4. The vault will automatically re-lock after a few seconds or when the door is closed.

2. Opening with Emergency Override Key

In case of battery failure or if you forget your code, use the emergency override key.

1. Locate the hidden keyhole, usually behind a small cover on the keypad panel.
2. Insert the emergency override key and turn it clockwise.
3. While holding the key turned, rotate the handle to open the vault door.
4. Remove the key once the door is open.

3. Tamper Alarm

The vault is equipped with a tamper alarm. If an incorrect code is entered multiple times consecutively, the alarm will sound, and the keypad will temporarily lock. To silence the alarm and reset the keypad, use the emergency override key to open the vault or wait for the lockout period to expire.

Maintenance

1. Battery Replacement

Replace batteries annually or when the keypad lights dim, or the vault fails to open electronically. Low battery power can prevent the vault from opening. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section for steps.

2. Cleaning

Clean the exterior of the vault with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or keypad. Do not spray liquids directly onto the keypad.
