5. Setup

5.1. Initial Connection

  1. Connect Monitor: Connect your monitor to the graphics card's HDMI or DisplayPort output on the rear panel.
  2. Connect Peripherals: Plug in your keyboard and mouse to the available USB ports on the rear or front panel.
  3. Connect Network (Optional): For wired internet, connect an Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the rear panel. For Wi-Fi, ensure any external antennas are connected (if provided).
  4. Connect Power: Plug the power cable into the power supply unit on the rear panel, then connect the other end to a wall outlet.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press the power button on the front panel.
  • Power Off: If an operating system is installed, use the shutdown option within the OS. Alternatively, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to force a shutdown (use only when necessary).

6.2. Operating System Installation

This system comes with Freedos. To install a full operating system (e.g., Windows, Linux), you will need an installation medium (USB drive or DVD) and a valid license key.

  1. Insert your OS installation medium.
  2. Restart the computer and repeatedly press the designated key (usually DEL or F2) to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup.
  3. Navigate to the Boot menu and set your installation medium as the primary boot device.
  4. Save changes and exit BIOS/UEFI. The computer will boot from the installation medium, and you can follow the on-screen instructions to install your operating system.

6.3. BIOS Access

To access the BIOS/UEFI setup, power on the computer and repeatedly press the DEL or F2 key (check your motherboard documentation for the exact key) during the initial boot sequence.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the exterior of the case with a soft, dry cloth. Use compressed air to clear dust from vents and fans. Ensure the computer is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
  • Software Updates: Keep your operating system, drivers (especially graphics drivers), and BIOS/UEFI firmware updated to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the computer has clear airflow around all vents to prevent overheating.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Check if the power cable is securely connected to both the computer and the wall outlet. Ensure the power switch on the PSU (if present) is in the 'ON' position.
  • No Display: Verify that the monitor is connected to the graphics card's output, not the motherboard's integrated graphics ports (unless you are using integrated graphics). Ensure the monitor is powered on and set to the correct input source.
  • System Freezes/Crashes: Ensure all drivers are up to date. Check for overheating by monitoring component temperatures. If issues persist, consult MONSTER support.
  • Peripheral Not Detected: Try connecting the peripheral to a different USB port. Ensure drivers for the peripheral are installed.
