4. Product Overview

The UNIWEIGH Digital Kitchen Food Scale consists of two main parts: the weighing platform and the detachable LCD display unit. The display unit can be placed on a built-in 45° stand or hung on a wall for optimal viewing.

4.1 Components

  • Weighing Platform: Features a tempered glass surface for durability and easy cleaning, and a precision sensor.
  • Detachable LCD Display: Shows weight, units, and functions. Includes control buttons and a backlight.
  • Control Buttons:
    • ST/SP SET: Start/Stop Timer, Set Piece Count.
    • MIN PCS: Minute for Timer, Piece Count Mode.
    • SEC HOLD: Second for Timer, Hold Function.
    • UNIT: Unit conversion.
    • -0- ON/OFF: Tare function, Power On/Off.

The scale supports 8 weighing units: g (grams), lb (pounds), lb:oz (pounds:ounces), oz (ounces), fl.oz (fluid ounces), ml (milliliters), milk ml (milk milliliters), and kg (kilograms).

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartments on the underside of both the scale platform and the detachable LCD display unit.
  2. Slide open the battery covers.
  3. Insert 4 AAA batteries into the scale platform, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Insert 2 AAA batteries into the LCD display unit, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  5. Close both battery covers securely.

5.2 Initial Use

Two steps for starting the UNIWEIGH scale: Turn on the scale, then turn on the display.

  1. Place the scale platform on a flat, stable surface.
  2. Press the power button on the side of the scale platform to turn it on. A blue indicator light will illuminate.
  3. Press the 'ON/OFF' button on the detachable LCD display unit to turn it on. The display will show '0'.
  4. The display unit will automatically connect wirelessly to the scale platform. If connection fails, ensure both units are powered on and within close proximity.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

  • To turn on the scale platform, press the power button on its side.
  • To turn on the display unit, press the 'ON/OFF' button.
  • To turn off both units, press and hold the 'ON/OFF' button on the display unit for 3 seconds. The scale platform will turn off automatically.

6.2 Unit Conversion

Press the 'UNIT' button repeatedly to cycle through the 8 available weighing units: g → lb → lb:oz → oz → fl.oz → ml → milk ml → kg.

6.3 Tare Function

The Tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container, so you only measure the contents.

  1. Place an empty container on the scale platform. The display will show its weight.
  2. Press the '-0-' (Tare) button. The display will reset to '0'.
  3. Add the items you wish to weigh into the container. The display will show only the net weight of the items.

6.4 Hold Function

The Hold function allows you to lock the displayed weight even after removing the item from the scale.

  1. Place the item to be weighed on the scale.
  2. Once the weight stabilizes, press the 'SEC HOLD' button. The weight will be locked on the display.
  3. You can now remove the item, and the last stable weight will remain visible. Press 'SEC HOLD' again to release the hold.

6.5 Piece Counting Function

This function allows you to count multiple small items of uniform weight.

  1. With the scale on and displaying '0', press the 'MIN PCS' button to enter Piece Count mode.
  2. Press 'ST/SP SET' to select a sample quantity (e.g., 25, 50, 75, 100 pieces).
  3. Place the selected sample quantity of items on the scale.
  4. Press 'ST/SP SET' again to confirm the sample. The display will show 'PCS' and the number of pieces.
  5. You can now add more items, and the display will show the total count.
  6. To exit Piece Count mode, press the 'MIN PCS' button again.

6.6 Timer Function

The display unit includes a built-in timer, useful for cooking and baking tasks. The maximum timing is 99 minutes and 59 seconds.

  1. To activate the timer, ensure the display is not in weighing mode (it will automatically disconnect from the scale).
  2. Press 'MIN PCS' to set minutes and 'SEC HOLD' to set seconds.
  3. Press 'ST/SP SET' to start or pause the timer.
  4. When the timer reaches zero, an alarm will sound. Press any button to stop the alarm.
  5. To reset the timer, press and hold 'ST/SP SET' while the timer is paused or stopped.

7. Maintenance and Care

7.1 Cleaning

  • Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or immerse the scale in water.
  • Ensure the scale is completely dry before storage or next use.

7.2 Storage
